Avoid this game like the plague

Quite possibly the worst of the sonic games I have played so far, and I have played most of them. My main problem is with the gameplay, as it has many many faults. I get the feeling that this game was released without being fully completed. The biggest of the problems is the camera angle, which changes at many unexpected times, and will send Sonic off a cliff. Enemies will be hidden and hazards will be unnoticed. Some might vanish as soon as the camera angle changes. The game has too many instant death falls. Many of the levels get further mandatory expansions afterwards, which are the exact same stage with missions such as, 'reach finish within the time limit,' and 'collect ### Rings.' The controls are clumsy and poorly made. Frustrating accidents will happen. A prime example would be the circle button, during a boss called Egg Lancer, as when prompted to push it, it should get you to proceed further into the boss battle, but instead sends you flying to one of those omnipresent instant death falls.
Visuals are good, and the only good thing I can say about the game is that the opening sequence is quite good. The characters on the other hand are all terribly bland, and others just outright annoying. Where Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 had used mostly scenes for character interaction, this game uses avatars and text boxes for the most part, much as was done in the handheld game Sonic Chronicles. For a handheld, this is good, but for a console title, I don't consider this acceptable. Music is decent, though there is an error during boss fights which will have no music, and you'll only listen to the drone of Eggman's Vehicle as it floats in front of you.
To repeat earlier, this is a bad game and was released without being ready for release.
the reason why you feel this way about this game is because you are playing the worst version of the 4. the ps2 version. it has gliches, bad graphics, VERY SLOW, realy long loading times etc. try the wii version. it's basicly this version, but without all those problems.

ok first of all i live sonic games and i hav playyed most of them sooo i no wht i am talking about this game is verry dull and frusterating cuz most of the game u r playing at nite and u can rarely play during the day also i sonic games r known world wide for their speed this wen u play the game is not fast at all u usally play as the nite version of sonic whooo sucks and it super slo and u barely get 2 play as the regular sonic we kno and love plz dont get this game save u money
This was a fantastic Sonic game. This game had amazing graphics, gameplay and controls. This game deserved more credit than it has. At least it began getting the blue blur back to his roots after the release of Sonic 06. This game had beautiful day time stages and some good night time stages with the Werehog. Although this version could've use the adventure fields like the 360 and PS3 versions had. And this game had nice extra missions. This was a very nice game that Sega happened to release.
