Great potential but fell short

I think this game had a chance to be good but the controls really killed it for me. The graphics are great, the detail to each players own style is great but the controls are horrible!! The players have a delayed reaction to what you press. On defense, the players jump for rebounds 3 seconds after you have pressed the button! At times, the game was fun but when the controls start acting up it is really frustrating. If the controls had been better then this one be by far the best sports game I have played. But that was a big draw back for me. I rented the game in hopes that it would be good enough to buy but after what I experienced, I will not watse my money on it and I would recommend that you don't waste yours either! Hopefully EA can iron out this issue for next year and have a great game on their hands.

Best basketball game ever

In my opinion, this is the best sports game I have ever played. I can not find one bad thing about this game. The only sports game that could even come close to this is NCAA Football 2009. In NBA Live the graphics are out of this world, and the actions that the players do are just like what they do in real life. With Kobe Bryant for example, when he drives in and makes contact he will pull back and shoot and fade away shot with his right leg kicking up in the air, the game has that down to absolute perfection. NBA 365 however, never really comes to good use except for online play just because not many people are going to do the play now mode a lot, but it has great use in online. Online I think is where this game really comes through for me, the challenge in online is always very great and it almost always comes down to the last minute. This is because EA pairs you up with someone that is your own skill level. My friend and I played this game online for 3 hours straight, and it was the most fun I have ever had playing a video game. So, if I was you, I would go out and get this game as soon as you can, but remember, dont get 2k9!!

2K Has No Chance!

NBA Live has always been an ok game compared to 2K's sweet basketball games. But... this year, I was shocked! This game is great! Now don't get me wrong, NBA 2K9 is a good game. NBA Live 09 is way BETTER! I love the new NBA 365 that comes free with the game. If you don't know what NBA 365 is, it's an update every day of players statistics from last night's game.They will play like they did the past night. The NBA Academy is a great addition to the game. If you're new to NBA games, or just not very good, then at the academy you can do drills to help practice with shooting, defense, ect. There is also the FIBA Olympic Tournament. Last year, there was 8 different countries playing, this year there's over 20. In the game, they actually shorten the 3 point line just like they in real-life in FIBA. They didn't include the Season Mode, but that's because you don't need it! The Dynasty Mode this year is deeper than ever. It actually makes you feel like you're the head coach of the team. Plus, the online play is great. No lagging or glitches, which is a big plus compared to any game before. Anyone that says that the graphics aren't as good as 2K's are lying, NBA Live 09 graphics are just as good, if not, better than NBA 2K9. The gameplay is GREAT comepared to 2K. Anyone who likes 2K and not NBA Live this year are just to stubborn to switch. Adding all this up NBA Live 09 is definately a must-buy.

How Amazing

I am a big fan of the NBA games and this one by far is the best SPORTS game I have ever put my time on. The graphics are amazing and the players actually look real I mean name another sports game that literally has skin that looks like skin. It is so real I caint explain it to you. The gameplay is extremely hard at first only because the CPU knows the shooters so well. As a player to this game you have to know the places on the floor where your players are better shooters at, i.e. Kobe Bryant in the game is better at shooting on the coners of the 3-point lines he doesn't like to drive from there. Its very real and is as close to real performance as possible. A blow out can cause your players to miss more shots and if a player has a "hot hand" then you might want to get the ball to him more often before he looses it. The sound in this game has to be one of the best I have heard in a sports game; I have a standerd TV no HD keep this in mind, and the sounds still finds a way to make me think some of it is real. The players talk alot and the crowds' whistles actually are faded enough where you think someone in your home is doing it. The game is so real, the music choice is my favorite I sing along alot and when the music playes in the stadium you can here the diffrence because again just like in real life it sounds like the music is being thrown over a large area providing that authentic stadium music feel. I have not stopped playing the game since I got it and recommend it to everyone. If you are new to the NBA LIVE franchise this is a good game to give you a first impression, and if your a person who doesn't really like sports games but want this one then the controlles are easy enough for you to pick up and I say that because I just got a 360 and I am not familiar with the controller and I still picked it up. Momentum changes in this game and a 25point lead can change to a 10point loss if you let it. As allways EA SPORTS its in the game.
