NBA live 2009 is a good game but it just doesn't deliver that authentic game play that NBA 2k9 offers. Take it from me, i bough NBA Live 09 and wasn't satisfied with it at all. The game play is improved with the pick and roll system and the ability to call and change offensive and defensive plays, but during the game u just wont see game play thats realistic. Ex. CPU sometimes look like it has no idea what which leads me to my next point. The CPU will make a lot of shots even if there a bad team. They make bad teams look like all stars. Other times there will be glitches and lags that are really frustrating. All in all NBA live 2009 is a good game but if your looking for authentic game play 2K sports is the way to go. The only game that can beat 2k sports is probably NHL 09.

This year's NBA Live is truly the best in the series. NBA Live 365 feature is good for those who don't like outdated rosters, and is really great to have so you can know how players are doing in real life. The graphics are superb. Dynamic DNA is a great addition to the series. Controls are great but sometimes take a while to respond. Sound is perfect. Camera angles have really improved. The challenge isn't all that challenging. I beat the Blazers with the Lakers 175 to 109. Overall, NBA Live 09 gets a 10 out of 10 in my record books, and is definitely a contender for Best Sports Game. I'd recommend it for anyone who is looking for a great sports game. Go out and get this game. I have yet to try online and FIBA World Championship, but I'm sure it's great.

Way more realistic than 2k

Yes, 2k games have always had the best graphics but this year live 09 has outdone 2k sports or at least matched them in the graphics category. As far as gameplay goes, it's no contest. NBA live 09 has probably the best gameplay a sports game has ever had. In 2k9 you are basically getting 2k8 with updated rosters. The new features for live are unbelievable. NBA live 365 keeps you updated all the time with your rosters and academy is a lot of fun. If you are looking for a game where every possession is the same as the last one, buy 2k9. If you want a game where every possession is different from the last one and keeps you in the game then buy live 09. 2k9 may have good graphics but if that's what you are basing your order on than you might as well buy live 09 because their graphics are AT LEAST as good if not, better than 2K9 and live has the better gameplay. No contest this year between the two, NBA live 09 is the obvious way to go.

When i rented this just to see how it is since the last couple live games were not that good, i liked how they changed a lot of stuff that they did not have in 07-08. Say for example people actually play like they do in real life and they make cuts to the basket more like real life like i never seen in a basketball video game before. The academy is one of the better features for this year since if your not good at basketball games you can practice plays or shots so you can get control of how you want to play. Since i'm a jersey fan i love driving the lane with vince the crazy man carter since his dunks are nasty his shot isn't the best but it is nice sometimes. But all in all this is one of the better games for live that they have came out with since 06. So i would have to say if you want a basketball game this year go with the better more real more fun to play game which would be nba live 09.
