Stay Focus
This Game Should strictly be used as a frisbee
PostedOctober 18, 2008
the graphics are horrible all the players look and run like string puppets, 2k9 is a way better game its 10 times smoother than this frisbee you call nba live 2009.The sound is good, But i don't play game for the sound. Every body has the same exact shot and its not even how they shoot in real life. nba live is for squares. one of my friends bought it and said" yo i got that live . this game is hot." and i was shaking my head . then i looked away and looked back at my friend and he was slowly transforming into a big fat square while playing the game, so i quickly took a dive for the ps3 swiped the eject thingamajig, grabbed the games with latex gloves on {because there is no way I'm touching that load of shit with my bare hand} and frisbeed it right out of the window shattering the glass which i did not have to pay for because my friend was just thankful that i saved his life.

NBA LIVE IS BACK!!!!
PostedOctober 10, 2008
I have bought NBA Live on the 1st day it came out since they started making it back in 1995 when Tim Hardaway was on the cover. So its easy to say i've always been a big fan but in recent years i have been very dissappointed. Live 07 was so bad that i played 06 until 08 came out. i bought 360 this year and 08 was completely different than the PS2 version. To me it seemed more like a 2K game. i thought it was very non responsive and the alley oops almost never worked properly. The other thing that sucked was the camera angle after you poked the ball away from a player and it went toward your end of the court. The camera didn't keep up and you couldn't even see the ball. Anyhow, with 09 i believe LIVE is back! The graphics are awesome as is the game play. I love all of the different varieties of dunks and layups. The players dribble and move just like they do in real life. Out of all the great versions in live including this one, the makers always seem to add or take away something that they have no business doing. In 09 there is no Season in Game Modes. Why would they take that out. I don't wanna do Dynasty and hire coaches. I don't believe anyone wants to build a dynasty on live season to season when next year a new NBA Live will be out. Overall it is awesome and i would definitely recommend it. One.

EA Finally Got It Right!
PostedOctober 10, 2008
I picked up both 2k9, and Live 09 on launch day, but I have to admit, I find Live's gameplay and controls to be much more satisfying. I've read some of reviews about Live, and was a bit skeptical when I picked it up, but I must say this is a great basketball game! The Academy is an awesome feature, which helps you improve your skills and gameplay as you complete each drill. The gameplay is smooth, yet challenging at the same time. The defense really makes you work hard to get a shot (I play on Superstar difficulty), especially when you play against powerhouse Teams like Detroit, Phoenix, or San Antonio. Player movement and animation, are top-notch, the quickstrike, and ankle breaking moves are fantastic, but not overpowering, you really have to judge the defenders momentum, just like real basketball. The players get excited, angry, hi-5, fall down, and celebrate (check out Detroit's pre-game dance). This is the first basketball game where I saw someone get called for a technical foul! I am really impressed with Live, I didn't expect it to be this good! I can't wait for the season to start, so I can really see how the DNA will change the game, hot streaks, cold spells, injuries, and so on. Great graphics, great gameplay, and a ton of features, especially online. The only thing that I had to change, was the speed, it was a little slow, but I just adjusted it in the options, and now the pace of the game is perfect! Great job EA, you finally got your basketball game right!

I picked up both games at launch, and I must admit, I was a bit skeptical of Live at first. But afterI playing both games, I found Live's control and gameplay to be much more satisfying. I read some of the reviews, but I picked up Live anyway, and I'm glad I did! This is just an awesome game! The Academy is an awesome feature, I've gone through about 1/3 of the drils, and they really help you improve your gameplay as you complete each one. The quickstrike, and anklebraking moves are fantastic, but not over-powering. Defense is a good challend, especially when you play a powerhouse Team, like Detroit, Phoenix or San Antonio (I play on Superstar difficulty), you really have to work to get good shots, and the AI will send help if your player starts to get hot. The gameplay is smooth, and player animations, and emotions are top-notch, players get angry, hi-5, fall down, and get pretty excited in the game (check out Detroit pre-game dance), this is the first basketball game where someone has gotten a technical foul! I can't wait for the season to start, so I can really see how the DNA is going to work out, hot streaks, cold streaks, injuries, etc. Overall, this is a solid basketball game, great gameplay, graphics, anda boat load of features. The only thing I had to adjust, was the speed of the game, it was a little slow, but I just adjusted the speed in the options, and now the pacing of the game is perfect. I can't wait to see how things play out, as I get into my season, and online. I'm glad I picked it up, it's a solid basketball game!
