It's like they dumbed it down for the little ones.

Anyone who played "Spider-Man: Web of Shadows" and actually liked it....probably played the excellent Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. Both of those games were T-rated free roam non stop adventures. What is the PS2 version you may ask? A 2D side scroller with about as much violence as Swiper the Fox saying "Oh man!"
Seriously, it's like the folks at Activision intentionally dumbed down the PS2 version, thinking the T-rated installments would be too "violent." And how much do you want to bet that's the case? And the E10+ rating for this version is just the beginning. The game feels very childlike and not in a good way. No playful imaginative features, nor are there are redeeming qualities...except for maybe one; you get to make all of Spidey's choices for him. You can choose to either eat a sandwich or return it to its owner. You can punch WEAK opponents in the face or let them get away. It's your world to make, but the world feels like it's run by Stewie Griffin's half brother from Family Guy.

I've played the playstation 2 version and the playsation 3/xbox 360 version and the ps2 version is trash. the game that they advertised is only for ps3 and xbox and stuff but if you get a ps2 version just know to keep your reciept. its not at all the same game. the ps2 version is a side scrolling game that looks likt you can find it on a free games website. GET THE PS3 OR XBOX 360 VERSION, they are the real game, not this trash

Not good............ at all.

Well, I've seen the other versions of this game, and those look awesome, but a poorly animated 2-D sidescroller does not suffice for a PS2 game, or any game for that matter. A lot of young children's educational games are sidescrollers, and a T-rated game should not have any of that. The graphics are pathetic and average at best. There's a lot of cons for this game, and the only pros are that you can use both the Red and Black Spider Man suits, you can make almost all of Spider Man's decisions for him, and you can add upgrades and even allies to your side as you try to complete this difficult, unrealistic game. Don't buy it.

Huh? A SIDESCROLLER?!?!?!?
PostedSeptember 12, 2012
This Game Was OK. I Played When I Was a 7-9 Year Old, Then it Was Fine. I just Dug it up And Made The Mistake of Playing It. I Personally Liked The Version For PS3/360/PC, but the PS2 version was just bad. The first Reason I dont Like it is Because it's a SIDESCROLLER! Totally Different then the others. If it was on something like Ds and it was a sidescroller, that would be fine, but I was expecting something like the 360 version. Second, the story is off. But still, my everlasting adoration for the masked vigilante has saved this title from being a total loss. Best for little kids
