This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
I must say, InFamous series is by far my favorite series of all time. Now the cool thing about this is, You can play as good, or evil, all your desision. I personally think evil is more fun because you can destroy anyone or anything you see and become more evil, if you are good, it is hard because if you were to do that, your karma becomes more evil, but it is phenominal, i highly recommend it, and i'm just excited for InFamous: Second Son for the Playstation 4.

I just want to say a few little things and tips.I have played this one and the second and I liked both,but this one more,The comic scenes top it all off and if You have the second u get some XP and other stuff from the first.Hope this helped. :)

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
This game is easily one of the best Superhero games and best PS exclusives of all time, the graphics are amazing, the detail, and appearance of the lightning, the gritty, dark, and awesome open world city. The combat is awesome, it blends third-person shooter elements in with the action/adventure, with plenty of varied attacks. You can explore anywhere in the massive Empire City at any time, as long as you're not in a mission that kills you for going too far away. And the story is freaking brilliant, complex and genius, you play as Cole MacGrath, who dropped out of college to become a bike courier, he got a mysterious package that was actually a kind of bomb, which activated a special gene in some people, the Conduit Gene. Afterwards Empire City was put into quarantine, and Cole kind of starts cleaning up, taking out evil Conduits and the Reapers. So the story is very good, there's more to it than that, but if I gave away too much more it would give away spoilers. My only two very very minor complaints about the game are that the melee combat is basically useless, you can rarely get close enough to hit anyone, and it would be kind of nice if you could fire lightning bolts without being in aim mode, since R1 does nothing unless holding L1. But this is a truly amazing game, one of the greatest of all time, if you own a PS3, go get this game, or wait for the inFAMOUS Collection in a few days. Honestly, I think this one is better than the sequel, inFAMOUS 2, it's more gritty/dark, and just plays better.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
I love Superhero games...they are just so awesome, this one is the best out of them. This isn't going to be all praise I will mention my major issue with the game, but if you're skimming just know you should get this NOW!
My complaint is the karma trees. It is way easier and far more rewarding gameplay wise to play as the bad guy. The side abilities are way more useful and the fact that it is easier to get bad, just doesn't seem fair to those who like the good campaign story more.
Overall the strengths far outway my one complaint. The story is addicting, gameplay is sweet. And by the end you will be a powerful kick butt dude who is extremely powerful and making you feeling like a god.
I can't wait to get Infamous 2 which promises to be greater than this...

I got this from the PS3 free selection after their hacking problem. Seemed kin of dark and depressing at first but as the game moved along I enjoyed it more and more! My friend got the second game and loved it. I only with you could go back to different levels. Once you are done, you can only explore or start over.

this game is awesome , i got it for free ( luckily ) and started playing it , and didnt get bored of it , graphics werent that much good but i dont actually care about perfect graphics and by the way infamous 2 has amazing graphics.. story was cool and so entertaining this game is so fun and its easy to get most of the trophies , i will buy infamous 2 for sure and thanks for reading .

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
I got this game when i bought my PS3 and since then, this has remained my favorite game. You could not ask for more from a game. Excellent graphics. Lots of gameplay time. Extensive storyline but not to hard to understand. A huge amount of freedom to explore the game. And what could be better than having the power to shoot lighting bolts from your hand? Also the character you play as, Cole McGrath, just has that Batman like persona. Except Cole sometimes kills people. Going on that, you can choose to be good or evil. Which is also called your karma level. Your karma level effects how the citizens in the game act to you, such as helping you in a fight or throw rocks at you. Your karma also affecsts what upgrades are available to you.

Infamous starts off with a bang. The main character, Cole, wakes up after an accident and discovers he was granted electricity-based super powers. That's one of the game's key points: a great story. The plot is actually quite original and Cole's tale is full of awesome moments and epic battles grounded in a living, breathing city. You see, Karma plays a huge role over the course of the seven or so hour campaign. The player gets to mold Cole to be the kind of person they want him to be. Most of the major decisions Cole makes are decided by the player and the city will react accordingly. Be a hero and pedestrians will surround Cole in the streets, offering him praise and thanking him for his righteousness; play as the bad guy and those same people will avoid Cole as he walks by, casting him mean glances, shouting insults, and throwing trash at him all the while. Sucker Punch's game even echoes its previous franchise Sly Cooper in the gameplay department, with similar platforming and a unique art direction. Empire City feels so believable largely in part because of the gritty, comic book-inspired atmosphere. It works well, and only serves to further enhance the experience. Wielding Cole's powers feels both exciting and rewarding, as they are complemented with a nice upgrade system additional powers to unlock after playing surprisingly fun sewer missions to restore power to individual parts of the city. Characters and voice acting are also well done. Cole's voice actor sounds so stereotypically gruff that it'll make the player laugh and Zeke is unbelievably cheesy to the point that his character actually works. After the story concludes, the player can search for blast shards, audio recordings, and other collectibles scattered all over the city. However, Infamous does bring along a few shortcomings. The engine looks outdated with stiff animations, poor draw distance, and loads of pop-in. Framerate drops and minor screen tearing are also not unusual. In addition, some of the decisions the player makes as Cole result in essentially the same outcome regardless of whether or not he made the "good" or "bad" choice and some pre-made decisions seem to lean one way while the player may have wanted to have the option to choose the other. The boss fights aren't exactly standout either but are serviceable and side missions are very repetitive. In short, Infamous makes for a short but fun open world adventure of venegnce and deception. A solid plot and wacky characters pump some flavor into the twisted playground that is Empire City. FINAL SCORE: 95/100.

InFamous, you can do so much! From running atop buildings do doing amazing feats that a "normal" person could do! InFamous starts about two weeks into a quarantine as Cole Macgrath, a delivery boy who one day gets a mysterious package to deliver. As the story grows, so does Cole, he learns fantastic new powers, from grenades to a shield, it's all there! This games graphics were amazing, once I was playing and my buddie asked what movie was I watching! InFamous is just another one of the reasons PS3 is an amazing system!
