I found it to get loud but then I moved my xbox into a more open spot that is more ventilated and it works great.

I say it is a bad idea to buy it because it gave my friend's 360 rrod, because it uses power from the Xbox 360 to power the fan (A lot of energy). This causes the Xbox to perform poorly and get the red rings. Just use a plug-in fan.

the red ring of death happens when the system OVERheats and the gpu comes loose not enegry lose

When I first purchased it, it worked like I expected it to. After using it for a few weeks the noises grew louder when I first started my Xbox. The sounds it made remind me of a car trying to turn over but can't quite reach it. The fans were spinning but the noise was annoying. If you leave it on for 20 minutes the noises go back to the normal sounds.
Today I finally had enough of the noises and am going back to the Xbox 360 cooling system. I took it apart to find the source of the noise and it is not fixable. The problem is a design flaw.
I would only recommend this product if you play games or movies with a headset to mask the noise.

Not worth the cost

Worked great when I first bought it but a day or two later when it turns on it is so loud and the sound that it makes sounds like it is about to die. Bought mine brand new in store and when I took it back to them they said it is supposed to sound like that. Save yourself the trouble and do not waste your money on this cheap product.
