this is the best baseball game ive ever plaed.way better then 2k9. this is the best mlb game yet! the online updates are great and completly accurate.buy this game now!!!! the franchise mode is better then ever. the graphics are amazing in this game if you have a hd tv.only flaw is that road to the show you dont get as many points in games as you used to.new practice mode where you do batting practice. mlb music feature better then last year and easier to put in your music. new custom cheer feature where you put in your own cheers through your headset. can also set your own walk up music for players and home run music.( i put go cubs go for derrick lee).power swing more of a power swing and not same as contact.more gameplay options. more in game inteligence. when you press back you see everything you need to know.great game and totaly recomend it.

Ok let;s get this out of the way, My idea of a good baseball game is not hitting a bunch or hr's on cue that's just not fun or realistic. But, Being able to play a game and have it be enjoyable and feel immersive is something i think every gamer wants. Some times this game delivers bur for the most part it's just plain frustrating to play this game. Now this doesn't always have to be a bad thing in fact it cam make the game feel that much more fun when u finally achieve what you were trying to do , like get a base hit. The problem with this game is that it is far too hard to do something that simple. It should be hard to hit a hr after all it's not easy in real life. However base hits are a dime a dozen. Even doubles are pretty common place. Not in this game for is seams that pretty much everything you hit goes to an infielder or out fielder but the cpu will drop one just out of the reach of you controlled fielder I"ve read allot of reviews forums and last years game are mentioned. last years game wasn't easier you simply had more control over what u wanted to do with your bat. You cant even pull the ball in this game or check swing with can make a huge difference in an at bat these thing witch wouldn't jack up ur score but make the game feel more balanced and enjoyable are not there. I wont even talk about bugs and things of that nature because all games have there share of bugs. It has been said that you need to have patience with this game. This is a baseball game not a golf game. Yes a bit of patience should be employed and it does add to the realism of the game but not the the point were u have to get cerebral during an at bat. You're playing baseball not coming up with attack strategies or GRAW or something like that. Honestly the only thing i have a problem with in this game is that hitting. I for one feel that last years game did a very good job with hitting. for those who scored allot or won allot you were just good at what you did. It is those people who if there having any problems or the BA has gone down that is a difference in hitting in this game. And like i said I don't want to hit hr's all the time but hits that are simple to make are far too hard in this game. Even in a real baseball game it's not that hard to do some of the little things in this game that are impossible to do. Difficult is good but only to a point and when u cross that point you lose the enjoyment factor. And as far as the PATIENT word that's being tossed around. I agree but this isn't a strategy game and like i said before it's not golf, So I agree with being patient but too a point because again you then lose the enjoyment factor This is baseball not military academy or a chess game.

Well were do i begin, is this a good game? yes, but it is also one of worst sports game experiences i've had in a ling time. Let's begin with how unbalanced this game is. Now i like a challenge as much as the next gamer but when u cant even put bat to ball or any time u manage to do so more times than not it leads to n out that gets pretty anoying even more so when the cpu plays nearly flawless.The cpu seams to always hit the ball with the right amount of power is always able to land the ball in the right spot for a base hit or home run.Lets talk about game play. Again this is a good game but not with out it's issues collision detection being one of them, I played a game were my infielder missed the ball no big deal right, Until I tried to have n out fielder bend down to grab the ball not only did he dive for the ball not needing too but the ball went right through him as if we weren't even there, Controls are n issue too, There have been a few times when i'll throw to 3rd or second base and the ball goes to first, not cool.I could go on but i wont. I really want to like this game. It looks soooooo good but with the hitting being so hard and the other things for me it's not an enjoyable game at all. i'm going to give it a lil bit more time and see what happens. finely a baseball game that runs at or near 60 fps and has day to night transition and it makes u want throw ur game system. Let me just say before i close that i don't want this game to be easy because i do like a challenge but i do want a game to be balanced realistic doesn't mean impossible, It's even harder to check swing this time around, what's that all about? Sorry Sony almost a perfect game but but one too many errors lead to your no hitter being broken by being hit with too many bad plays

Awesome but you need patience w/the challenge level...

Granted, I only have the PS2 version but, this edition of The Show is a million times harder than the previous editions. I play only on the Rookie level and it doesn't really matter because the system kills me every time. And I don't mean, by a run or 2. I'm talking at least 7/8 runs. There was even 1 time about 2 weeks ago that we had the game going into the 20th run and of course, the system won in the end. Only way I'm even giving the system somewhat of a challenge is creating new players with all high stats. And even then, I still just give it a challenge. I still don't even dominate. Unlike The Show 08, Rookie level means Rookie level. The Show 09, Rookie level is at least 2 levels above the normal Rookie level. However, still a great great. But I stand by my comment because my cousin has it for the PS3 and he has the same complaints. But, STILL A GREAT GAME. Graphics are amazing. Almost like watching a game. My dad saw us playing it and for a quick second he thought it was a real game, lol. Weird but true. And also love the fact that you can add your own chants and screams for your favorite players. BUY IT!
