I am 1 of the people who bought a PS3 just to finally being able to play MLB: The Show and overall I am very pleased with this game and the PS3 system itself. This game is not HARD but is challenging while being very enjoyable and relaxing at the same time. In no way will you not like this game because everything about this baseball simulation makes the game come to life without the help of any magical mushrooms from Mario. Without a doubt I havnt been this excited over a simulation since Jenna Jamison's 3D Sim. Bottom line is that this is a must own game. Little things I like: very easy to access bullpin best graphics I think Ive ever seen fluid real life animations flow of games feel realistic and unpredictable If you think baseball is boring to watch on TV (and I think it is too) this game will surely keep you excited about the games more and then after watching a game on TV you will most definitely be in the mood to try your luck at MLB The Show 2009. 10/10

Hardest baseball game ever!!!!

This game is extremely hard. It is hard to get any enjoyment out of this game when the computer beats you up all of the time. I have been playing these games for years and this year I am extremely disappointed with this one. Even on rookie mode everything goes the computers way. My pitchers give up about an average of 12-15 hits every game as it is extremely hard to just get a 1-2-3 inning out of your pitcher. On defense your fielder is always just a step short in fielding a ground ball down the line, but the computer will always field the same play. Even in the outfield, the computer will always make these amazing catches to always rob you of an extra base hit. While pitching, the computer pretty much gets the better calls in the strikezone that are borderline about 95% of the time. Those same pitches very rarely get called for you when you pitch. Also, the offense is extremely hard as it is difficult to manufacture runs. I'm always leaving men on base and the balls are always getting hit directly at the fielder. They way over did it with the challenge in this game as everything seems to work in the computer's favor. It is impossible to have fun playing this game and I have read a lot of similar reviews to the one I am putting out now. I like a game to be a challenge but this one is a joke as they way over did it with the computer having all of the advantages.

THE NEWER BASEBALL GAMES ARE JUST FLAT OUT DISAPPOINTING

It just seems like the newest games MLB2K9 and this one, The Show 09 try just a tad too hard to make the perfect and most of all ENJOYABLE game. Unfortunately they have taken a step back from the older games as far as game play goes if you ask me. As many of you stated, I as well enjoy a GOOD challenge, but I have my limits, and I don't like constant frustration either. Which this game constantly makes you (frustrated)! I was so excited when I finally got this game. I made the proper adjustments with the sliders for a beginner like me to make it some what easier to hit ect. Still no dice. The computer AI in the outfield and in-filed just seems to field every smash and line drive that you hit!!! Its super frustrating. It also took me about 3 days before I FINALLY hit my first home run (and it barely creeped over the fence). The game has GREAT depth with plenty of options and things to do, and the graphics are OUTSTANDING. However, the bottom line.... realistic baseball can be fun, but if you are looking for offensive explosions, and hit rallies, this game falls short and may bore you and aggravate you!!

Really Fun, Extremely Hard..

Right off the bat, no pun intended, this game was crazy hard. The graphics are the best ive seen on Playstation 3 so far. The Live update roster feature is awesome. The RTTS feature has to be one of the best game modes I've experienced during my run of video games over the last 10 years. This brings a whole new level of intensity and difficulty to the table in terms of baseball and PS3 overall. You cannot pick this game up and dominate, dont try. If you have no experience in the baseball world and just wanting to try out a cool baseball game, dont play it, watch someone else play it. Buy foam blocks and count to 10 a lot. Overall this game is awesome and would strongly recommend it to anyone who loves baseball. This game has the shock factor on 1080p and in surround sound, the game couldn't get better..
