Just Above Mediocrity
PostedJuly 17, 2009
This game really depends on what categories you like in games. This games all about fighting in a hack-and-slash kind of way. The game is good in my opinion. I would give it 9/10. The graphics are above average, which is alright. The game is pretty challenging, when you first start off it is quite easy. But, as you play longer it gets harder. The bosses are definitely on the hard difficulty. The game is pretty long, I still haven't even beaten it yet. But, of course I've been playing many hours into it. The storyline is totally the only aspect that you might not get. Unless, you know the storyline from the other games (before or after) then you might get what's happening. The storyline got so boring that sometimes, at the cutscenes, I just skipped them. Controls are easy to learn and master. The sounds are amazing, especially during the intro, that's where a COOL cutscene takes place. Overall, it's a must buy. The only downside is that there's no infrastructure multiplayer, only ad-hoc.

Much to difficult and annoying
PostedJune 23, 2009
If you are buying this game because you like other games in the Dynasty or Samari Warriors series, do not buy it. It is nothing like either of the above series. Whats different? No difficulty levels, less KO's, and you spend more time knocked down on the ground than you do fighting in some levels. The difficulty: In previous versions of DW and SW, you could choose easy, which was easy, up to choas, which was hard. In this game, you dont get a choice. Im only in the second chapter out of six and have to play levels 5 or 6 times in a row to beat them. On top of that, each levels usually has a defeat condition of dying 3 times (and i usually use all 3). This game is way to difficult and there is no way to lower the difficulty level. The KO's: In previous versions, there was a KO meter on screen during battles. You could easly get a few hundred to a thousand or more in a level. In this game, you hardly get any. Instead of lots of characters, there are only a few, but they are hard. In some levels, there is a bonus condition of getting 50 KO's. There isn't even a KO meter on the screen. The ground: In previous versions, you would occasionally get knocked to the ground and have to stand back up a few seconds later. In this game, there are levels where there are so many leaders and other units that can knock you down that the moment you stand up, you just get knocked back down instantly. (and remember that im still in chapter 2) This is very very very annoying. There are also little electric things that float around and will paralize you, then after a few seconds, knock you down. When you get up,they do it again. This is even more annoying. And one last note: The new "air fighting system" is also really annoying. You have to basically guess where the enemy attacking you is and then jump and hope you are right. Moving around and fighting in the air is also really hard, difficult and annoying. So, if you want this game because you like other DW or SW games, do not get it. If you want a game where EVERY level is insanely difficult, this game is for you. I would not recommend this game to any of my friends, especially someone who gets mad at games easly.
