Mass Effect 2 was the best RPG game that has came out since Fallout 3. The game has a great story line that can be played out in many different ways that can change the game play later throught out the game. The character and cutscenes was made very realisticly with great detale. The game can be very long or very short by the way you play it. If you go thought and do all the missons and beat the game it can take many hours of you could just skip to the end and beat. I give Mass Effect 2 a perfect 10 besides a couple tec problems.

This was truly a fantastic game. It improved on many of the flaws of the first Mass Effect. The shooting mechanics are FAR improved. Gone are the repeat visits to barren planets that all look the same in order to harvest resources. In it's place is a smooth probing system that almost makes it feel like you're treasure hunting. The side missions are vastly improved, as well. Instead of jumping from metallic outpost to outpost, each side-mission is in a different looking location, fighting different enemies, in different places. (Though, the number of side missions feels reduced.)
Other improvements include a much larger and more interesting team than the first. The weapons system is streamlined (But I felt it lacked variety.) And the dialogue has more weight when interacting with others.
But, this game has a serious weakness for me: It just felt small. There are only four cities that provide any serious interaction or quests. (Citadel, Omega, Illium and Tachanka) And each of these worlds provide a very small number of side-quests. Alot of the times, it's just bringing things back to people you found lying around while on the main quest.) It just felt more linear in regards to speaking with people, going and exploring things for side-missions, etc...
Which leads to my other complaint: That the game feels linear. The entire game is really comprised of just putting together your team and earning their loyalty. Once that's done, it's off to the final battle. Everything really focuses on the team, and there isn't really much outside of that. I felt that alot of the deeper aspects of the first, as far as mystery, intrigue, political drama, etc...was absent here.
Even though that was the case, this was still one of the better games I've ever played. I would put it in the top 15 of all time, with ease. It continues a fantastic story, using fantastic characters and great action.

first I got mass effect 1 and i loved that game, so I went a bought mass effect 2 right after beating the first. your decisions from ME1 carry over to ME2 and that is awesome. i can't wait till ME3 comes out so i I can see how the effects from ME1 and ME2 influence the story in ME3.
