Bones
Hard, But Rewarding
PostedSeptember 30, 2010
Let me preface this by saying this game makes me want to punch through a wall sometimes. That said, when I defeat a boss, I feel like I "could" actually punch through a brick wall.
The learning curve for the game is immense and tiring as well. But once you get through those issues you'll have a load of fun. After I killed my first Lao-Shan Lung (a GIGANTIC dragon monster) I felt like I was on the top of the world and nothing could bring me down. It's so much fun to watch your character change as you craft different gear and weapons for them. This leads me to the graphics, which are stunning. Some of the best the PSP has to offer.
Every PSP owner should at least try this out and don't just give up! I know this game isn't for everyone but I encourage you to stick with it, as it gets so much better, and so much more rewarding!

Nothing better

This game is a system in itself. i would by a psp if this was the only game that was available for the psp i would still buy the psp. this game would take days to explain, but when you look back at playing it after you've been playing a while its like it has its own memories. there is just so much in this little game, well huge game! it is an absolute must have for any psp user. this game is the best game i have ever played in my life. there is not much that can compare to it. the only time i ever play anything else is when im in the mood for a good story, even though every hunter has his own story. it is a long game that takes practice to get good at, and thats the part that is soo great about this amazing game. being one of the best selling psp franchises on the planet monster hunter has really raised the bar for what i expect in a game, i mean the ability to actually be able to go hunt a giant beast that is the size of a mountain (yamatsukami) is just a fantastic feeling once you kill or trap a thing that seems so much more powerful than you, and yet you take that thing out in less than an hour. the game is just perfect, it is stunning how amazing everything looks. at first its confusing but thats the best part because no matter how good you are at the game you can always be better and there is always more to learn about it. also the games graphics are by far the best on the market they are out of this world. just totally fantastic. all the tiny little details of everthing in this game make it awsome. all the monster feel and look different to what we are used to in a regular video game, its like they have there own personality. every person i have ever introduced to this game has completely falling in love with it. and so have i. to conclude i just want to say that this is by far Capcom's best work and should continue making great games. im looking forward to playing monster hunter tri

greatest psp game to date

wow... this game is epic. i bought it several months ago and i think this was the best game i have ever bought. for any RPG fans this game is a must have. the graphics are some of the best the psp has. beautiful environments, monsters are huge and stunning. speaking of monsters... there are TONS of em. i would say hundreds of monsters. as for character customization, if i remember right there are over 1500 weapons and over 2000 pieces of armor. now to get weapons and armor, you really have to grind to get them. when i say that, i mean you have to take the same quest over and over again just to get the items you need in order to make em, but thats a HUGE part of the monster hunter games. it can be fun yet annoying at the same time, the length of the game is ridiculous! 500+ hours? just... wow. i havent reached that many hours (im at around 40 hours) really there is no story. pretty much the whole game is to take quests from a few people around the town and kill the monsters or gather items for em. killing the monsters can be a huge pain. i remember dying around 20 times on one boss and realized, "you know... i need to get better armor and a better weapon." but after killing it i felt like i achieved something. thats a great thing that capcom did with the game. making it feel like you achieved something when you killed a monster. that being said, this is THE HARDEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED! halo on legendary cant even touch to how hard this game is. the controls are nice. all of em besides the camera controls. the d-pad to control the camera in the middle of an epic battle is not the best idea capcom had. but i got through that and am now used to em. the square and circle buttons toggle between the items in your inventory which is a breeze. the sounds are pretty good for a psp game. to the roar of a monster, the movement of the little monsters, the sound of the wind passing through a cave, its all amazing. this game isnt for the people that get angry easily, like my friend austin. he was way behind me on the quests and he gave up on the same boss i got stuck on. i almost threw my psp because of this game... which woulda sucked cuz i wouldnt have been able to play this epic game. thanks capcom for the best psp title to date. keep it up!
