Best game on the PSP
PostedApril 13, 2010
This game is absolutely amazing! This game is challenging yet fun to play at the same time. I have never played any monster hunter before this one and let me tell you this does not feel like an expansion to monster hunter 2. I purchased it when it first came out but never really got into it, i watched a few vidoes online and bam i found myself getting further and further into the game. This game will keep you going for hours, with endless quest and the need to acquire new and better weapons and armor. I'm not really into the whole role playing game, but this one is much different. Its a lot more fun than any other rpg out there. And with many more quests online to download for free, i dont think anyone could ever get bored of this extremely great game!

In my opinion monster hunter unite is a piece of junk. The game takes forever to get going has no plot what so ever and its really not worth the UMD its encoded on.For one you have to acquire tons of items to make anything worth while, this means level grinding... I don't mean the regular level grinding either. what I mean is you will have to run the same area over and over and over again possibly for hours to get the needed one or two items to make that new weapon.I'm reading reviews on other sites of people putting in 500 hours + into this game! Have people lost their minds...500 hours? Maybe in an MMO over a period of several months! The main and greatest flaw of the game(in my opinion) is the camera control. There is no way to track a monster so you are forced to hold your hand in really strange positions in order to be able to see the actual creature you have to kill. I played the game for about 18 hours(17:50 too much in my opinion) only to run up against a boss(which the Monster hunter wiki refers to as weak) and proceed to die 100 time since all he has to do is 2 shot me and I have to hack at him for a better of 20 minutes. I'm sorry im not going to invest 100 hours so that I can get the best gear to deal with this monster. I'm not going to run the same board over and over again hoping that when I mine that cave this time ill get that rock I really need. Again this is my opinion. I just have way too much going on in life to drop that kind of time into a game that I play once every few months. So if you are one of the guys that sits glued to their psp for hours and does not mind the mindless repetition of running the same mission over and over again(seriously you can exit and area come back kill whats there. Leave the area come back and its all back so you can kill it again and again etc) Then this is the game for you. The graphics are nice the sound is great but the game play is horrid(unless you have friends...that will make things much easier). Also I have yet to see a game I would give a 10 to.

My Eyes Are Glued

This game, I have to say, is my favorite game on PSP, and my second favorite over all. This game's graphics are pretty amazing for a handheld system, and the beginning movie right when you get on has the best graphics I have EVER seen, better than X-BOX 360 even! It was amazing! The sound is pretty good, as well, not as bad as people give it credit for, in my opinion. The challenge, though, is amazing. It is an open world, like WOW almost, where you go on quests, buy things, get armor, get weapons, upgrade them, buy advances, etc. One of the really cool things that I like is the felines. You can hire felines (cats) to cook for you, and you can also buy companions, which go on fights and quests with you, and it even is able to learn skills, such as things like stun, flute, attack element fire, water, thunder, ice, and a lot of other cool stuff. The length is the other wild thing. It takes almost as long as trying to get to level 10 in DDO. (About 1-3 months depending on how much you play.) At the start when you first turn it on, you go to character customization. It honestly has more girl cloths than men’s; I think that that is a little bit messed up. There are maybe not even 3 out of 10 of the cloths that are boys. Try not to put your PSP down while doing the character customization. I think that they should have done a better job of that, but I would not dwell on that. When you get into the game, you get 1500z, which is a little bit over priced for level 1. So when you get in the game for the first time, you can easily buy some better armor, which I would highly recommend you do, and a new weapon. "Z," you may have been wondering, is the game's form of money, which can buy almost anything. But there are also 'Pokkey Points,' which you can use to buy an armor sphere, an extra row of crop for the Pokkey Farm, and much more. And last, there are guild points, which you use for.... Well...... The guild, which you will learn more about in the game. Overall, this game is, like I said, one of the best games I have ever played, and I do hope that you think the same as well.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

This game is very challenging. You actually have to analyze the monster's movements before you plan to attack. The way the monster's look is the best part. The graphics are impressive for a handheld. The armor is the best part. You can take monster parts aquired after the quest and turn them into armor. Same thing with weapons, monster parts for various weapons as well. The only thing that needs practice is battling while adjusting the camera angle. Moving the camera angle does take a lot of practice to master. The game does get addicting because of all the excitement and you rack up a lot of hours playing because the next monster to hunt is like a surprise. Overall I'd recommend this game to whoever has a PSP. It is by far the only game that I'd never trade-in or sell. The game is that good.
