I love this game, though my boyfriend complains that the resistance band isn't heavy enough. I agree but it doesn't stop me from using the game. You will sweat... no doubt about. I plan on purchasing a heavier band. Buy it and I'm sure you will use it. I've tried the my personal trainer and its OK. It sits on my shelf next to the wii fit game. I will use it every now and then but I enjoy a game that is and challenging at the same time. This games actually monitors if you are doing the moves and if you are doing them correctly. You don't need a wii board to use this workout game. The workouts are only 20 to 30 mins. I've done about seven workouts and i feel the burn during and after workouts. Probably better for women or men who are overweight.

I have owned a WiiFit for about a year now, and worked out on it consistently for 3-4 months at a time. I always found that I didn't feel like I sweat enough during it, unless I did long stints with the cardio boxing. I did see some changes with my body, but nothing that was mind blowing. Then last week I picked up EA sports Active, and now my poor WiiFit is sitting on the shelf catching dust. I find that the Active fixes all the problems that I had with WiiFit. The predefined workouts mean that I don't have to search through the pages of exercises and pick out what I think would work that area of my body the best. With Active I just need to start up and either do the 30 day challenge (which I love) or go into their large list of already defined workouts and pick out one that I want. I wasn't sure if I could get use to the leg strap, but after a watching the extremely helpful video at the beginning I had no problem with the setup. The whole package has everything you need to start a decent workout regime. Overall the Active is leaps and bounds in front of WiiFit, the only thing that it is lacking is the tracking of weight gain and loss. I really liked watching my weight go down in the WiiFit, but thats why I keep the channel of WiiFit still on my Wii so that I can track my weight. Those 2 things combined make for the perfect product.
