Lots of variety, short-lived replayability

I will not argue that there are alot of activities/games on Wii Sport Resort, but for me none of them really makes me say WOW. The highlight for me is the 3-Point Contest in Basketball, pretty realistic shooting motion. The Golf adds more courses but if you have Tiger Woods 2010 (which is the king of Golf games to me) then it just doesn't compare well, just not enough depth. I would have really like to have seen Tennis and Boxing from Wii Sports redone to utilize the Wii Motion Plus, those are two of my favorites from Wii Sports. Most of the activities here are pretty weak and simplistic, and after a play or two become pretty boring. This includes Flying, Jet Ski (which could have been much deeper and could use a full-on Wii title), Wakeboarding, Table Tennis? (zzzzz), Canoing, Pick-Up Basketball, Archery?, Frisby? etc. I recommend Active Life Outdoor Challenge over this game, much more interactive. My son (6) and I really tried to like the game, but it just doesn't hold our interest vs other games in our library of Wii titles. If you don't plan on buying many games then this gives you a little bit of this and that, but overall everything here has been done better elsewhere.

Uncharted2
O.K

This game was suppose to show off the Wii-motion plus and it feels no different from not having the Wii-motion plus. When you first start playing it, you got to watch a really boring 5 minute video of stupid things like how to put on and off the Wii-motion plus and the skin it comes with and then you skydive off a plane to be able to play the other games. The games aren't really that fun exept basketball and the dueling game. The water ones aren't fun at all and it doesn't make me feel like I'm on a water jet ski or a canoe. The flying one also is good, but gets boring after 3 hours. The Table Tennis one is pretty sucky but not really. I don't reccomend this if you want to buy a fun game with multiplayer in it or to play for the whole day. I actually reccomend the Brothers in Arms Double Time pack for the Wii.

More fun than a barrel of Mii
PostedJanuary 20, 2010
I got Wii Sports Resort for my 44th birthday (along with an additional Motion Plus). This has got to be my favorite Wii game so far. This is what Wii Sports should have been all along. I'm not even miffed by Wii's insistence on the motion plus (or the fact that I have to remove the motion plus eveytime I need to recharge the remotes). This game is an absolute blast. Swordplay is a riot and we often find ourselves beating the heck out of each other on the Wii! I won't even paly against my 13 year old as she splashes me everytime! The wakeboarding is a hoot and a half. About the only games I don't really enjoy is the Golf (way to difficult with the Motion Plus) and the Canoeing (once you collect all the baby ducks its just kinda borning). The Island Fly Around is probably the best part of the whole interface. I've found 74 of the 80 i coins (where are those last 6?? even the guide plane has failed to show them to mii!) and there is something relaxing about cruising around the island at night watch the fireworks and popping ballons on the beach! All in all a very worthwhile game and a good way to justify the addition of the motion plus.

Great improvment

Wii Sports Resort is a big improvement from it predecesor, Wii Sports. It includes a larger variety of activities, including Swordplay and Table Tennis (which takes the place of Tennis from the original Wii Sports), along with Archery, Waterskiing and the return of Bowling. For those who are thinking, "Wow! The Wii Motion Plus will make it so much easier to play!", I'm sorry to dissapoint you. I really don't see much of a difference between the Plus accesory and not using one (which is not an option in this game). This almost makes it annoying to use, having to recalibrate it every 15 minutes or so. Luckily, this is the only con of this great game. My brothers and I got this for Christmas, and have spent hour upon hour on this game. The ability to use Miis is still present, and, if you have the Check Mii Out Channel, you can allow the game to pull Miis from it to go against in the various games. Also, the ability to get pro status on different games (specifically the subgames under each catergory) is still present, leading to you striving towards being pro, which usually accompanies some sort of reward, like bigger padding/armor on Swordplay. In conclusion, if you liked the original Wii Sports, this is most likely a must-buy for you. If you're new to Wii Sports, or the Wii in general, you should definitely should look into this game. Oh, I should mention that if you buy this to play with family and friends, you should definitely look into buying additional Wii Motion Pluses, otherwise, your forced play one player or do pass and play on a select few games. My final opinion: I love this game. Challenging, excellent graphics, and plenty of replay value. It's your trip to a resort for **** dollars (hopefully, it's less than a real resort (joke intended)). Thank you for reading this review!
