I"ve never played a better game
PostedAugust 14, 2010
First off, I would like to say i was a little nervous about buying this game at first, but when i saw the trailer, i knew i had to get it. It seemed like a type of game that would give you the freaks if it went to your head. It defidently had it's moments. The graphics weren't great for a psp, but better than any game i ever had. I thought that the story was excellent, a little boring at first, but the farther you got, the more interesting it became. The sound was great, especially the shrieks from the creatures during the nightmares. The only problem i had was the fact that the game was so quiet. The length was great, the first time i played it took almost two weeks for me to beat it. But when you would play the game again, depending on how long you played for, would depict the length of the game. I thought it had a partial challenge. I felt it was pretty much straight forward, until you got to the school, then it had a challenge. Then it evened out again. Some of the nightmares were pretty difficult, especially when it would seem you changed paths and ended up where you started, that became really frustrating. The controls were very simple, they are for all psp games. And last but not least the interface. I was suprised at how much interaction there was. I really enjoyed the fact that as you progressed the nightmare creatures got tougher. The best part was when you played again, some details got changed, i thought that was amazing. It seemed that nothing happened automatically. So if you want this game, It's worth spending however much money to buy it, trust me, you wont regret it.

Dark Reign
Cheryl? CHERYL!!!
PostedJune 17, 2010
Sorry about the lack of reviews... To let everyone know that I am still doing reviews, I decided to review Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Just so everyone knows, I also write reviews on GameSpot as DarkReignn.I will write reviews exclusive to GameSpot. Anyway, lets get on with the review. Shattered Memories is an amazing game. I have never played any game like it and, dare I say it, is better than God Of War. Thats right. Shattered Memories has an excellent mix of mystery, action, and, to some people, terror. I did not find this game scary at all, but I know some people might. This is the best story I have ever experienced in a game. It is about a man named Harry Mason. He gets into a car crash, and when he wakes up, his daughter, Cheryl, is missing. So you go around the town of Silent Hill trying to find your daughter. There are a few really cool twists in the game, and the ending is phenomenal and you will always remember it. The graphics are really good for a PSP game. Everything looks like you imagine it would. Some people might complain that this game it too short, but in reality this game is perfectly paced and this game was long enough. There is no fighting in this game. None. And I loved that. You have to run from the monsters that attack you. And I found that more realistic. I mean if a monster with no eyes, mouth, ears, and a whole in its head came running after me I don't think I would stop and try to hit it with a pole. The first time you get attacked and have to run, its a thrill like no other. But after the first time, you want it to stop because exploring the eriee town of Silent Hill is way more fun. Shattered Memories is a game everyone and anyone should play. I mean everyone. 5 year olds, babies, grandma, everyone. Shattered Memories gets a perfect 10 out of 10. Pleast rate my review, check out my other reviews, and remember I am on GameSpot as DarkReignn. "This game plays you as much as you play it..."

It Blew Me Away
PostedMarch 6, 2010
First off, this game is not even bad. No one should ever complain about this game. The game really makes itself work for the PSP. Sure Konami took out som of the features like moving your flashlight around freely, but the game is still phenomanal. The soundtrack did not let me down considering the fact that the music's been great in all Silent Hill games. The music really sets the mood for a depressing and dead town, but it also creates an intense mood when the Nightmare creatures are chasing after you. Those sequences with the nightmare creatures are a bit annoying at times, but can be really intense. I wouldn''t this game is really scary. It just seems like it wants to make you jump from time to time when some random echo shadow screams at you and runs away. The controls are really good for a PSP game. But, like I said before, there's no freely aiming your flashlight unless you zoom in. That's actually a good thing because on the Wii you have to keep your hand up constantly and sometimes you might not aim the flashlight at the right image or something like that. The sound was fair. All and all this is a great game for the PSP and I strongly reccomend it. The part that actually blew me away was the ending. I'm not going to say anything else other than it had an unforgettable twist.
