First off I want to say for the price this is a very good headset. Contrary to that fact it is not the best. The only major disappointment to me is that there is no bass boost. The speakers produce clear sound but not enough bass for my personal taste. Don’t be fooled by the “Heart-thumping bass boost adds sonic realism” in the description. On the official Turtle Beach website there is no indication of bass boost technology in the X11’s. I wish it had a bass switch like the newer Turtle Beaches are getting… I hooked my X11’s up to my amp and I’m pretty sure I’m getting 5.1 surround and bass boost off my amp. I don’t know if they are 5.1 just hooked up with the sound cables to the TV. (They sound a lot better if you have a mix amp to hook them up to.) If you use a mix amp just know the bass can get distorted at times because they are not made for mix amps. The thing I like the most about these is that they are very durable. They have lasted me over two years, and they have no sign of giving out. (I take pretty good care of my headset.) The cord isn’t a problem for me; I don’t know why other people complain about the cord it saves you money because you don’t have to buy batteries. Overall, this headset is good, but I would probably go with the X12’s if my X11’s ever give up on me. Overall, they are good, but if you don’t already have a pair of Turtle Beaches, give the X12’s a try before the X11’s if you like bass.

get the DX11 headset instead

just recently got the DX11 headset for Christmas all it is is the x11 headset with the DSS surround sound card as a package deal so far the headset itself is holding up well but the chord is a little troubling sometimes. the sourround sound card is well worth the money i have a large sourround sound system in my house but i would rather use the dx11 headset because it sounds so much better and doesnt disturb anyone else in the house while blast gears of war

this headset is the best money can buy. es the cord is annoying. but the sound is amazing. one of the best purchase i have made. if you don't have one get it. any true game should own this. and its awesome cause when your watching a movie tv show . you can have it loud cause it a headset means no more waking up mom and dad or disturbing others!!

I love my x11 and they just stopped working when i stressed the wires after my dog chewed them up. turtle beach is the best kind of headset i hope the x12 is better than the x11 because that is what i am gettin next.

I bought these about a year ago and about a month ago the power died on them so they are not avaliable and they cant be used so i would just go with X12

they have great sound quality and very comfortable. they also look cool unlike the sharktoon ones. Definitely buy this, sounds like surround sound but yet very quiet on outside.
