amazing great quality detachable mic so you cant damage internal cord bass enhancer and optical sound for extreme 7.1 surround sound better than an installed home system unit i just wish it had a rechargable enery unit inside of the devive with a ac adapter so it could be plugged in and charged instead of buying 40 pack batteries u get about 20 hours out of a set of 2 AAA batteries

I used to think that I had a great Surround System when playing My Xbox, Until I got the Turtle Beach X41 headset. The sound is INCREDIBLE. You can really hear all those footsteps when playing MW2 and Black Ops. If you can only afford 1 type of headsets, Let it be the Turtle Beach X41. You won't be Disappointed.

Not bad but...

Very pricey and don't let anyone fool you, it's not nearly as good as a decent surround sound. It's a great alternative if you can't play loud games in an appartment or home at night. It has one major draw back in the mic sensitivity. Even adjusting it, other players hear eaverything in your room when you talk. If you keep the rest of the noise in your play area down you are OK. However if you have a stereo or some other noise in the backround everytime you speak this is carried over the set so other players hear it. For the price... I'd think twice. Keep in mind that they aren't truely wireless either. You still need to plug them into the controller. They are comfy and even after several hours still don't seem to bother me.

Sounds like my suround system
PostedFebruary 8, 2011
When I first opened the box, I didn't know what to do. Once everything was calibrated and plugged in, I put on the headset and it was like putting a cloud on your head. It was barely noticeable after a period of time playing. I swear it sounds like my 800 dollar surround sound system in my living room(at a fraction of the price). I actually had to stop playing and take off the headset to make sure the sound system wasn't on! The speed of the headset was perfectly in sync with the game. My friends could hear me fine and I could hear them, but their mics were messed up and they are too cheap to purchase turtle beaches. For the Price this was, it would be a buy if your a serious gamer and have some extra dollars lying around.

So far they are great but pricey

I got this headset for christmas and so far have no complaints at all. The sound is great and for more serious gamers is extremely helpful with picking up sounds you can't usually hear as well. The negative things i would say is the sound does not seem that much better than the X11 headset that 3 of my friends use so i'm not sure it's worth the money unless it's sound quality is better than the X31 and you need to have a wireless headset. Also, if you do not have the HD AV cable for the xbox, there is no audio out port for you to connect to unless you have a receiver connected to your tv. Luckily I have the HD cable but most of my friends with newer model xboxs do not have that port which would make them unusable. Overall I am very happy with the headset but I do not think I would have paid for it myself. As for malfunction or breaking, I have not had a single issue yet but I do take good care of it. I would try to test out other wireless options to compare the sound quality before purchasing this one since it is quite expensive.

Actually.....that's not true...

The newer chrome and black XBox Elite has a port specifically for the connection that the X41 requires. It's just a bit harder to locate, but it's on the back with all the rest.
