good, but doesn't have many ground breaking ideas

Rage is one of those games I felt a little disappointed. From the company that made Quake, I was expecting something a little better. The one thing the game definetly delivers on was graphics. They look awesome and better than any game I've ever played. The only problem I had was the texture with them. As I walked through buildings the textures would load before me and if I turned around the walls lost all texture for a few seconds before it came back again. The action is also pretty good. The weapons are solid and create interesting ways to kill things. I will say the game makes you revisit the same areas. After killing bandits in a radio tower area, the next mission from a different person had me go back and find a part there and the AI had already respawned. The story itself is good, not great. The characters were a little dull, and there wasn't much plot twists. It is a decent 12 hours, and if you like great graphics and a decent game, it's a decent buy.

The Ending?!?!...
PostedOctober 27, 2011
The ending was abrupt, but that's not what bothered me, the fact that I didn't get to go back and explore the Arks that rose or even get to do anything else afterwards. The ending was just sort of like here's your hat, there's the door, now get out. The gun you get for the assault on Capital Prime was sick. Hopefully single player DLC comes out, otherwise this'll be a return to Gamestop.

I expected Rage to be something new and exciting. I don't know what I was thinking. Rage is probably the biggest copy of a game I've ever seen! It's like they mixed Borderlands and Fallout 3 in a blender. Don't get me wrong, I love the two games. Borderlands is fun and lasts a while while Fallout is just plain epic and automatically an instant classic. So why do I feel like I'm playing the same game twice? I felt like it was going to be more action packed. Immediatly after you start some guy throws you into combat, but after that mission, you're running around being everybody's errand boy. I played on farther and farther and combat never seemed to come. The story was never developed and there was nothing to do. I had loads of guns and a surplus of ammo, but never got around to using it. Rage is a title I won't soon be picking up again. It's like playing through Fallout 3 again, but only the quests where you talk to people.
