A Great Game For A Fallout Clone
PostedOctober 19, 2011
This game is essentially the same as Fallout 3 or New Vegas just with far , far better graphics and gameplay. Not to say that's a bad thing but if your looking for new and original look elsewhere. This is indeed a great game and worth playing but I could see this being a regrettable buy as the missions get pretty redundant and boring about 6 or so hrs into the game. All in all great game but it doesn't leave a lasting impression and it's basically just Fallout 4 as far as i'm concerned.

Dissapointed, in a way
PostedOctober 17, 2011
Ok, now there is a reason I'm dissapointed with rage. Not because of it's perfect graphics, awesome addictive gameplay, or cool missions, but simply the length and replay value of the game. Anyone can tell they put a crapload of work into this game but it just didn't seem like enough. I was sceptical when first playing Rage as it is a little different from most fps's out there but after an hour into it I got addicted. Graphics wise, Rage outdoes every single game in the market, so far. I found myself drooling over the landscape, it's that good. That was easily where most of the work went in. The gameplay in Rage is absolutely outstanding. It's fun. It's different. It will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole entire time. Enemies are smart, or smarter, than most of your typical dumb AI(Call of Duty) and find different ways of taking you down. Mutants are funnest enemies to confront as they can flip, jump, roll, and climb out of your range of fire. Plus, they are just fun to punch. Now, into more detail to where Rage fell short. After a rather sturdy campaign of various side missions, main story levels, and dune buggying around, it ends up stopping pretty much out of nowhere. No major bosses or climatic story fight. You do a rather lengthy mission, then a short cutscene after and it ends. You probably think that you could go back to do the missions you missed before then, right? Wrong! It starts you back at your last checkpoint on the last mission forcing you to play that level over and over again. Well, that is unless you made a second save back before that mission unlike I did..... So your pretty much left wanting more after a short 10-13 hour campaign. Word of advice. Do every single side mission or race you can before the "big one", or you'll be stuck like me. But don't worry, it's got a short co-op mode with nine little missions and a cheesy online buggy race thing, if you like that type of thing. As I said, they put alot of time into Rage, but just enough to keep you wanting more, and that's not what we get. If you are a hardcore fps gamer looking for a breath of fresh air from your typical Call of duty/Battlefield type games, Rage is for you.

Meh, kinda disappointing
onOctober 31, 2011
The game looks great. Gameplay though leaves something to be desired. It's pretty basic and feels a bit dated. At this point in gaming FPS games should be way beyond this. It looks like its open world, but its not. there's invisible walls everywhere. unlike games like Fallout 3, Crysis, Oblivion, where the player decides how he wants to play (ie, stealthy, or run and gun) this game pretty much only plays one way. enemies kinda just pop out automatically once you reach certain points like a shooting range. even crouching a room or two over, they know exactly what you're doing and where you're at. and most annoyingly they yell out their every move in a bad english accent. "he's over there!", "throw a grenade!", "let's kill him!", "i'm tying my shoes!" "this bagel is delicious!" ok they don't say those last two but they may as well. It might be worth a rent but if you never play it, you're not really missing much. who knows, maybe later on it gets better but it just doesn't hold my interest.

Wasn't sure what to expect from this game, but once you start it's hard to put down. Alot of fun to play..Really easy controls makes gameplay smooth and easy to get into.
