Rage Will Give You Rage
PostedOctober 11, 2011
When i first popped in the game i was excited. The first hour or so was fun exciting and wanted me to play for hours. However, After the first couple of hours the game became repetitive, and there was nothing that exciting happening. The story died after the first couple hours and it made me seem as if i was not really part of the story but just an on looker who hears clips of what happened but didn't get the full story. The ending is horrible if you beat this (witch took me a short 7 hours) and there is no excitement while playing. you will talk to a guy who will send you on a mission, you will think you ended that mission but are then sent to another guy, whom tells you to retrieve another thing. I play many RPG's but these missions a repetitive and boring. The vehicle combat is fun at first but dies quickly just like the rest of the game. The graphics could be better there are texture pop-ins everywhere you look. The gameplay was a typical shooter but it was very smooth and was easy to learn. Not much to upgrade. The best part was the music this game had a great soundtrack which was the only true thing I loved about this game.

ID Software shows they still are on top of FPS's
PostedOctober 11, 2011
Rage is all the Rage. the 6 year development cycle and 7 year wait from ID's last game they released (Doom 3) was beyond worth the wait. I have played for a staggering 73.4 gaming hours and am only a bit more than halfway through the STORY missions due to obsession over side quests and the fun little things to do, along with multiplayer etc.
You all know the details, basically If it says ID on the box, you know its going to be a good game... now that doesn't mean it was made by ID (See the new wolfenstein, quake 4, enemy territory quake wars(but that was great) brink) all let downs except for ETQW may have ID on the box but developed by someone else Splash Damage for Brink and ETQW and Raven for Wolf and Quake 4 (Raven is doing MW3's MP, if they followed up Quake 3 the best online FPS of our time with a generic MP FPS like they did then kiss MW3 goodbye)
so note that Yes, this is a real ID game, the first since Doom 3, so expect all the amazement of the quake series, Doom series, wolf 3d all into one new styled effort and its an A+ result.

Great game to an extent
PostedOctober 11, 2011
Don't get me wrong I loved playing this game. The graphics are absolutely amazing for this big of a world to travel around in, sound is fantastic. When they said they spend many dreadful hours perfecting the sound of a shotgun they hit the nail on the head. With surround sound and lots of base the sound quality in the game is very very high. Game play is very fun, you get to travel around and do missions and side missions on top of that. I wouldn't say if you played all the way through it without screwing around to much you could be done in 10 hours unlike 15 they quote from the gaming company. I am just very glad I rented it instead of paying for this because lasting appeal is not there. Especially after the anti climactic ending! To such a strongly built game to have that type of end leaves you staring at the screen thinking to yourself "are you kidding me!!! That was it???". Other than the ending to it the game itself was great but I don't see it lasting very long in peoples homes because of this. I have no urge to play through it again after finishing it and the multiplayer is kind of fun driving around and blowing people up but you can only do that a few times till your sick of it. The coop is pretty cool but I was only able to play the jail scene unless I was doing something wrong. So that is very short lived as well. I played once and wanted to play again until it was the same scenario over and over again nothing new so ya. All in all this is a good game and is very fun to play and explore even though its not a completely open world to do what you please but there are many upgrades and things you can build ( which go ahead and build your sentry bots and robots because I was saving them for a big final battle boss that didn't come so I never built one of them) so enjoy them while you can. I would suggest you rent this for a week and then take it back because thats really all its going to be worth in the end. I wouldn't suggest anyone shell out 60 bucks for it even though ti was fun but doesn't last! Hope this helps

THE MOST AMAZING, MOST INTENSE GAME EVER
PostedOctober 10, 2011
This game is one of the best games i have ever played! I love the graphics and the weapons, oh the weapons are the best part. I love the different type of enemies. The best tactical weapon to use is the Wingsticks. Wingsticks are these triple-sided boomerange type blades that can cut off head, severe limbs and still come back to use again. You should get this game, everyone should! it is fun, suspenceful, and extremely intense!!!!! :)
