By far a truly superior PSP
PostedJuly 6, 2010
I like to say that the PSP Go is the coolest PSP since ever!!! It has bluetooth, Wi-Fi, tons of memory built in for games, music, and videos, it's the complete package. I have a PSP Slim and it's bulky compared to the light and easily more portable PSP Go. One of the things I couldn't go without is the design, to me, it's more comfortable than the previous designs. The only disadvantage of the PSP Go is that the games take a semi-long time to download, and video content cannot be streamed, only downloaded. But the video streaming problem, such as youtube videos occur on the former PSP series as well. Overall I think the PSP is far superior to it's counter-parts, way more comfortable, and more in sync with today's technology. I would recommend the PSP Go to all who are new to the PSP systems, I would not recommend this to the person who already has a PSP with tons of games, it wouldn't be needed. But for new mobile gamers, this is the system for you!

As I see some people traded in their regular psp to get this system because they thought it was better. Well sony stated that this system will not replace the regular psp. The difference is that this one is more portable, download only, and it has built in bluetooth. You should only buy this system if that is what you want. Otherwise, the system works perfectly and feels comfortable in your hands. And with the large harddisk size you can have a pretty good number of games on it. The overall design couldn't have been better! So if you think you need to go out and trade in your regular psp to get a pspgo, think if you really want to spend the money on something that does the same thing. If you still want to do it, I say go ahead! The pspgo is great for someone who is looking for this kind of thing.

PSP Go Review
PostedMay 9, 2010
Coming from the Game Boy handheld generation I was out of the loop for the handheld market for quite some time. I just picked up my PSP Go today and downloaded a few game demos for it. Getting it online and the interface itself is really simple because it mimics the PS3 in that aspect (I know the PSP was released before the PS3 but I have had a PS3 longer).

It's about the size and weight of a cell phone which is really cool and the 16GB (14GB available) built in storage is really nice because I don't have to worry about memory cards seeing as most of the games I have browsed on the PSN Store are 1GB or less however if you should desire to have a memory card as well the system has a M2 slot built in for additional storage. Also built in Wi-Fi makes it easy to get connected at any hot spot and accessing the PSN store is as easy as signing into it.

The graphics are outstanding for a handheld and the sound is crystal clear. The display is bright and colorful and I didn't notice any dead pixels as I was playing it. I just learned that it can play downloadable movies as well which is a plus in and of itself. My only concern is the battery life. One good movie and it's just about time to recharge it again. However I can easily overlook this.

The button layout is similar to the PS3 controller minus the right analog stick as well as the L2 and R2 buttons so that fit right into my hand. The one thing is I am afraid that the analog stick is going to break on me.

Overall I feel that this is a really good system and does a lot more than just play games. If you are in the need of a handheld system to take with you on the go I recommend this one for sure. Since you download all of your content that means that you don't have to lug anything around with you as far as game discs or anything like that. The price tag of $*** may seem a little steep but for what the machine does it is well worth it.
