Best Version of pokemon Yet

The one biggest thing about HG/SS that made me the happiest was the use of the touch screen. Now, your Running Shoes, Fishing Rods, itemfinder, etc can all be accessed with the tap of your stylus. It's also kinda cute when your Pokemon walks behind you mostly everywhere you go. The graphics have not only improved during the Story, but the graphics on the bottom screen when you battle has also improved. After playing a good bit of SS, I went back to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and I could not read what my Pokemon's moves were. The graphics in HG/SS make everything look so much nicer, crisper, and more beautiful. AS always, the control's aren't a problem, but I did find myself a little disappointed with the functionality of the Bike. I thought it was hard to control at some points in the adventure. Storywise, this game doesn't really differ that much from the original Gold and Silver. They did give it a bit of a "modern touch," one could say. You can catch Pokemon from every generation, not just the ones in the original Silver and Gold. One of the problems that I saw with SS it carried over most of the same problems from previous games. Catching Pokemon can still be a pain, but I guess that's all part of the game. Overall, this is a great game, and even if you didn't like Gold or Silver, you should buy this. Trust me, it's a lot different from the original two, but you'll still recognize some familiar tunes and stuff in the storyline if you've played G or S, and you'll find some differences in the story, too (such as the Elite Four). Even if you didn't, go out and buy this game if you're a Pokemon fan. For those of you who are just starting the series, this is a great one to kick off on because the new graphics, the style, and the story will keep you hooked for a LONG time. Thank you for your time.

This is easily the best pokemon game I have played
PostedSeptember 14, 2010
I have played all the pokemon from red to soul silver and platinum. Game Freak hit a home run with this one. It has the perfect blend of nostalgia and freshness due to an edited story line and new pokemon. Personally i think the best parts of the game are the little tools made just for the player. For example you don't have to hold down a button to run, you can ignore most poketech calls, sorry mom, you have the ability to have any pokemon follow you, and the graphics are simply outstanding.
My favorite thing by far though is the integration of the Nintendo's DS touch screen. Unlike platinum or silver you can pretty much play this game one handed. You can do almost anything using the touch screen. Things like talking to flying from city to city come to mind.
Whoever invented the pokewalker cannot get enough credit. I may be a total nerd but I fell in love with it as soon as it was unboxed. It feels nice and solid in your hand, very well put together. Changing the backs was as easy as one screw. The great thing about the pokewalker is that it allows you to level up and unlock new pokemon. When I wear it to school people say that I am cheating because I'm leveling up my pokemon as I walk to my math class, instead of grinding away at level 10 Magikarp. What they don't know is that there are certain pokemon that can only be found in the pokewalker, so for a pokefanatic like me it's worth putting effort into.
I would recommend this game to anyone who wants to relive the pokemon golden days or beginners that have never heard of the name.

The perfect game for the long time fans
PostedSeptember 9, 2010
pokemon soul silver is by far the best pokemon game in the series since the original pokemon silver. the game play is very good for the game. i simply love how you can walk with your pokemon and every thing. the graphics havent improved much but they are still the best graphics. i love non ending hours of gameplay for this game. if you loved pokemon silver and all the other pokemon games, you will easily fall in love with this game.
