Best Pokemon Game Yet
PostedMarch 15, 2010
Graphics: A good step up from diamond/pearl. Overall, there just seems to be a lot more detail put into the game. Different surfaces actually seem to have a look of texture and everything looks a lot more realistic than it did in the previous games. Sound: This is the best improvment in the game... night and day difference between the old games and this one. In the past, you usually had a kind of electronic music that varried very little between games. However, here it often sounds as though the music was actually recorded by a band. Overall, all the music has been revamped very nicely while still retaining the traditional pokemon feel. Gameplay: One new feature you'll see almost at once is that your lead pokemon(the one that is sent out first in battle) follows you around. Its not just your starter that will follow you. For example, if Lugia is your lead pokemon, then Lugia will be seen following you around. Another handy feature that has been added is the autorun feature. You can set your character to run at all times, and running is now possible indoors. While this may sound like a very minor change, its noticable at once. Overall: This is definently the best designed pokemon game to date. While the gameplay does get a little repetitve since its a remake, its very enjoyable. I would highly recamend it.

Great Remake of an instant classic
PostedMarch 15, 2010
This is the best remake of a pokemon game madePros: New touch controls, Pokewalker, Enhanced colored graphics, Returning of many pokemonCons: Same old same old, Not really good sound effects, no customizing your characterWith great new graphics and the pokewalker, soul silver is a must have for DS owners everywhere, even if your not a pokemon fan. the gameplay is still the same and the sound is still the same but many things have changed since it's GBC counterpart. First off the graphics are now in color instead of gray and blue. The touch controls are easy to figure out too. I especially like the pokewalker. It's like leveling up your pokemon without playing the game. Some features i didn't like about soul silver though. just like every pokemon game, nothing has really changed in gameplay and soundwise. it's the same click and choose fighting and grumbling cyber sounds. Overall i would Highly recommend this classic remake!

This game is revolutionary
PostedMarch 15, 2010
Ok where do I start. The controls in this game are wonderful. They are similar to all other pokemon games, which is very good for me, because I really like the controls and how you can customize them. The animation and graphics is extremely good for nintendo DS, especily the part in the Shinjoh ruins, where everything looks real(may be real pictures). The interface is great, It shows intersting pictures, is easy to use, and works well. The length of the game is way better than other pokemon games. The sound is really good too. Just like all pokemon music, it brings back good old memories of Gold and Silver versions back in 99'. The storyline is amazing too. You are back in Jhoto again, 11 years later, and you get to choose a cool pokemon to start then build up your team fighting gyms, and elite fours (yes that was meant to be plural). It also includes a pokewalker, a pedometer witch is really fun too play around with it getting different items and pokemon.

Pokemon Soul Silver: Really that Different?
PostedMarch 15, 2010
The question, with all Pokemon games: Is it really that different from the last one? Why not wait for the next one to come out? Why wait for it, because it's all right here! Pokemon Soul Silver and Heart Gold version take the original games of Pokemon and transform it into a modernly respectful game. The storyline is excellent, best I've seen in Pokemon games for the Nintendo DS, the graphics are amazingly beautiful for a small screen, and the challenge is enough to keep you playing for hours. What's not to love about bringing the old, and making it new again? The Pokewalker accessory that comes with it makes you want to walk around instead of sitting on the couch all day, which is great if you're like me. The game goes on and on, but not to an extent where you give up. The Heart Gold version has a few Pokemon that you can't get in the Soul Silver version, but trade with friends, and your'e covered. Unfortunately, the only down, is that when you battle, it's flat; so you can't get the full effect of the battle taking place. If you're into the flatness, that's fine, but I would rather have Harvest Moon Sunshine Islands 3D characters in a Pokemon game, when can we see that? That would be the ultimate Pokemon game. After the let down of Pokemon: Battle Revolution for the Wii console, don't give up on Pokemon, because Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver version are the best comeback I've seen since, well, ever. Get the full $***** worth in a game, because it comes with a free Pokewalker accessory, which adds to the impressive gameplay, and the guide is available to those who want every last breed of Pokemon in their PC boxes, need a little help to get through the game, or want to unlock every aspect of this impressive title. Don't wait, they'll all be gone before you can even say, "Gotta Catch 'em all!"
