wow fan gone wrong
best remake of all time
PostedMarch 22, 2010
i remember playing gold and silver when i was 8 years old. man those were the days. i spent 400+ hours on each the original gold and silver. im 19 now and when i found out they were making remakes of some of my all time favorite childhood games i jumped on it. i preordered gold as soon as i could paying it off 4 months b4 it came out and had a long wait. the game is one of the best remakes i ever played. it has all the stuff from gold silver and even crystal, with enhanced graphics, gameplay, and storyline. the only problem i have with this game is that they took out my slot machines. i loved those when i was younger trying to get an evee or porygon. now they added some very difficult flip the tiles game and try not to get ellectordes. this game was so good besides that that 2 days later i was forced to go back into gamestop and buy soulsilver as well. any rpg, nintendo, pokemon fan would enjoy this game. and if you say the pokewalkers too childish get it anyways. i just keep it in my pocket all day no one has to know lol. and im 19:O. great game i give it a 9.5/10 bc they took out the slot machines. that should not be a problem though for new players

Better Than The Original
PostedMarch 20, 2010
As stated in the headline, this game is better than the original, I did'nt know whether to get HeartGold or SoulSilver so I chose the one I played during my childhood. This game has improved in everything possible. Graphics, gameplay, presentation, controls, storyline, and the length. With 16 gym leaders to defeat you can't go wrong, there is just so much to do. You will be able to catch most of the legendaries with certain circumstances of course. Yoou can catch Mewtwo, Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Entei, Suicune, Raikou, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Lugia and Ho-oh (obviously). And you can get a level 1 Giratina, Palkia, or Giratina if you have an Arceus. This game is just amazing the new gadgets and gizmos are very appealing and they added new features such as the mini-games and much more. By the way why read this review you should be getting the game by now!

Great remake!

Pokemon Gold was a real good game, and Heart gold isn't much different than that! A new real coll 3-D style has been added and it gets pretty cool! The title screen has a great quality 3-D ho-oh in and that is very good so the visuals are pretty good! Also what was different was some of the controls. This time yo tap the bottom screen instead of a menu and you can take you're running shoes on and off. Also the fun features I remember from the old Pokemon Gold is in here such as, you can take berries from trees, and the menu or fighting type! It has a good storyline as most Pokemon games usually have which are definitely not bad story lines. So this was definitely a good Pokemon game, so if you don't have this and you go to the store you should get this game.

Heart Gold
PostedMarch 19, 2010
So, I'm only roughly 30 Hours into the game, with my victory over the Elite Four. That said, I can safely say that this is easily my favorite of the entire Game Franchise. It gives me the same nostalgic experience as the original Pokemon Gold Version did 10 years ago, I still have a hard time believing that I was 12 at the time. I'm 23 now, and I find myself enjoying this game just as much, if not more, as I did back in the day. The game controls how you'd expect a DS Pokemon title to control, and then some. The game makes more use of the Touch Screen for actions than previous games. You can either hold the B Button to run, or you could use the Touch Screen to activate the Running Shoes for a permanent run. Same with items, such as the Fishing Rod, or Bike. Instead of pressing Y, you can tap it on the screen. Pokegear, Pokedex, and your Pokemon line up is all Touch Screen. You can talk to people using the Touch Screen as well. With the addition of the Pokewalker, though some might see as not being major, but it does add a whole new element entirely on its own. You can find Pokemon you'd otherwise not find anywhere else on it, unless of course you use an Action Replay. Same with Items. The addition of Minigames make their return, with the Pokethalon, where you can run, jump, bash and even beat your way to near Olympic victory with your Pokemon. Games range from Speed courses, to Stamina, where you and your Pokemon will square off against other Pokemon to either break bricks in a set amount of time, or run a course within hitting any objects. Though, at first this can be hard, but the right Pokemon does make all of the difference. If your Pokemon isn't built for speed, it won't do too well in Speed Courses. It's a nice feature, 'specially for those who've already become the top trainer, winning your way to the top. It's a great game, and easily my pick (for now) as 2010's Game Of The Year. This is a good game to pick up, whether you're a long time fan, or you're new to the series entirely, this game is for you. What better way to get into the Pokemon world, than with Pokemon Heart Gold or Pokemon Soul Silver?
