Pretty good but I was not satisfied
PostedJanuary 21, 2011
Well after buying the controller I loved every minute of using it. But, and this is a big but, Turtle Beach headsets don't work with them. Another very negative thing about the controller is that it stopped working within a month of owning it. But when it did work it played like a dream. The triggers are stiffer than normal xbox 360 controller triggers which actually make your trigger finger noticeably faster. Overall I feel like it's not worth $50 for an unreliable controller.

Uhhh I have a Turtle Beach Headset and it works fine with this controller, I havent had one issue with it since I have started using it. I can both hear fine and the people on the receiving end can hear me as well.

very good 3rd party controller
PostedJanuary 16, 2011
alright, so just like everyone else thinks, the stock xbox controller is getting quite bland and boring. so i need a new controller and i looked into third party controllers. i looked at the tron controller by pdp, the afterglow controller by pdp and this controller. i decided to take the dive and get this controller. overall i am very impressed. i absolutly love it! if you are a cod player this will help you alot. let me explain what makes this controller so awesome. first, its got a cool different look. the design is nice and the light up joy sticks give a real nice effect. on the side are grips and man oh man those help. if your like me and play for a while your hands get sweaty well this helps alot! and the shell of the controller also has a rubery feel to it too. the thing im really impressed by are def the combat buttons. if only microsoft would catch on.... first of all theyre genius. helps alot! second thing is that the precision aim feature is awesome. it takes some time to get used to but its a great feature. the only disadvantage i think would be that the joy sticks are a bit slippery but i got used to it. dont listen to all these people who say its junk. theyre just microsoft junkies and think third party stuff is junk. madcats did a great job on this! definetly recomend it!

Worth the price of admission

Being the same as the COD MW2 with cosmetic changes and lesser packaging, this controller is great! (as it was when it was MW2, and I wish the games were equals but I digress) First, the feel of it. It fits most hands very well. The rubberized grips are a must for all future controllers, regardless of who is making it. The thumbsticks could be a little taller, but that's what extensions are for. There are assignable hot buttons on back that are less that useless but they don't interfere so those get a pass. My biggest complaint is that the spot where a microphone puck (or any other peripheral) plugs in isn't shaped right. I use Turtle Beach X41's and had some bad crackling with the stock wire (for chat) that was (mostly) cured by getting their puck style cord. It still doesn't fit quite right, but it seats much better. In comparison to the only other wired controller I bought, it's mechanically superior to the Tron Collector's Edition controller (which I returned after a week for malfunctioning thumbsticks) and provides better sound quality. All in all, if you live in first person shooters, you owe it to yourself to pick one of these up.

The crackling that happens with the turtlebeach headset isn't caused by the controller itself, it's caused by the way xboxes transfer voice data over a wired controller. The same will happen with any other wired xbox controller as well.
