In NCAA Football 11, of which I've only played once, has loads of new controls and ways to play your game. One setback is that even though I believe it was good, was that it didn't offer the FCS schools in play, are they not good enough? Well overall it was good:)

Old game just repackaged

Well, from what I was told at my local Gamestop, EA Sports are no longer going to be making games for the PS2 after this year. From what is in this years NCAA 11, they could of quit making this one about 3 years ago. Nothing has changed in this game from the 08 version. Lets start with each category that are rated for this product shall we. Camera Angle-----The same old camera angles that have been in all the PS2 games forever. The camera still jumps around now and then. The look of it seems very old and outdated. Not much to put in this one seeing as there is nothing new for the camera Angles in years. Challenge-----They seemed to increase the AI for this year. The schools do seem to play more like they do in real life, and that can add to the challenge some. You do not get Texas Tech running the ball 75% of the time like you had in the past. Linebackers close on passes in the flats pretty quick, which makes dump passes tough. The bad thing is, once you figure out what handfull of plays work against the AI, you can get them almost every game. Controls-----What more can I say that these are the same exact controls that NCAA games have had since this series hit the PS2. If you have played this game before, you will not need to read the instructions unless you are just bored. Graphics/Animation-----Nothing new in this game at all for this catagory. Heck, I played NCAA 07 a couple of days ago and this one looks EXACTLY the same as that one does. The players move the same and look the same. The stadiums all look just like they did in that 4 year old game, and so do the fans. The ESPN crew look and move the way they did in 07. Couldn't they have at least not made half of the college kids wearing corn rows??? Also, EA talks about in their commercials that teams would enter the stadium like they do in real life. Well, not when it comes to the PS2 version. Same old taking the field animation as so many previous games. Talk about a huge letdown! Interface-----Nothing, and I mean nothing new here either. Sound----Our favorite ESPN crew recites the same of tired stuff that they have for years in this one. There is a reason I have the radio going when I play this game. Anything I can do not to hear Nessler, Herbstreit and Corso saying the same exact lines that they have for years is better that the sound from this game. Boring, repetitive and old. There is nothing more to say about the sound with this fossil of a game. Statistics-----Not too sure if they could of tweeked this catagory much, for these are all real life catagories. They do not count half sacks or tackles, but that is really nothing that makes or breaks the game. Unless someone comes out with a new statistical catagory in real life, I don't see how EA could of done anything new or different here. Team/Player Variety-----Boy, here is where this game not only drops the ball, but kicks it around like a blind monkey on ice. While it does have all the teams, the stadiums are a let down. This is the second year of the University of Minnesota's new TCF Field, yet in this game the Golden Gophers still play in the HHH Metrodome. The Cotton Bowl, located in the middle of the Texas State Fair grounds and a Texas State Historical Landmark, not to mention the home of the Red River Rivalry between UT and OU is called Dallas Stadium in this game. Hey EA, it is still named the Cotton Bowl! The faces EA has set up for their default looks are a joke at best. Stanford QB Andrew Luck has corn rows. I have watched him play since he was a Soph. at Stratford High School in Houston and let me tell ya, this kid would never have corn rows in his hear. EA has ratings that are a joke as well. Garrett Gilbert, the top QB on the University of Texas depth chart (this is the team I am currently using. Hey, I'm a med student at UT!) has lower ratings than incomming Freshman Connor Wood. EA, ya missed the boat there guys! So, would I reccomend this game, only to someone that does not have an old version of

A Waste!

I bought NCAA 11, after seeing the commercials and trailers that it had improved on graphics and added some new gameplay.......but i was dead wrong. All it is, is NCAA 10 with new and updated rosters.....If i would of known this I never would of gotten this game. The gameplay and graphics are all the same as the previous years. I am a big fan of the EA Sports NCAA games they put out, but they are putting out the same thing every year. When are they going to put out something we haven't seen before in a game. I love playing the game but I am just disappointed that they haven't changed at all from the last couple years. If you don't have a college football game...save some money and buy NCAA 10 the only thing you'll miss out on is the roster update.
