this thing is awesome i pre-ordered Pokemon Heart Gold and then pre-ordered this i never had a DS so this was the newest version so i got it ( if your a person who looks at that timing and says what the hell they were originally supposed to come on the same date but then changed it and didn't realize until i ordered it) People always say that the graphics will be grainy so i got Mario Kart and played with my friend and his DSi looks worse in that subject the sound is awesome i hate when you play a video on a DSi and you could barley here it on this one you barley have the Vol. on 2or3 and its like the DSi.Back Seat drivers, on your DS and yiu play lets say at school or at home people go up on yiur back and tell you what to do (first off i hate when people do that) but know people stay a little farther away because of the screen being larger well those are the aspects i wanted to go over. Over all 10/10

my first DSi

My boyfriend got this for me and I love it so much! I'd been wanting a DSi forever and once i heard that the screens on the XL were 93% bigger, I had to have it. I was a little bummed about them not releasing it in black, but the bronze isn't so bad. it actually is black on the inside and the outside glossy finish looks almost black. I'd also heard that the games look pixelated because the resolution is the same as a regular DSi while the screens are bigger. let me just say that i have not experienced that on the couple of games that I have (new super mario bros & zelda). all in all, i would recommend this to anyone. it's a blast to play with, even the games that come with it are fun! i literally played it for about 5 hours straight the first day i got it. i can't wait to purchase more games for this <3

I bought this system the day it came out, along with Warioware DIY. Granted I was a bit skeptical, reason being I already have a DSi. The only reason I bought the XL was so I can sit in bed at night and play Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, or the plethora of other games I have without having to wear my glasses. The 2 huge screens are amazing. I can actually play all my DS games without having to wear my glasses now, or have to have the stupid thing 2 inches from my face when I'm not wearing my glasses. The pre-loaded Brain Age games aren't terrible, they're fun for me at least (I'm 20). Flipnote is really fun, but it is available for free from the DSiWare store. The only downside that I've come across so far is that the thing is pretty heavy, so playing games like WarioWare DIY/Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks where you have to hold the DSi XL in one hand while you write/flick/tap/etc the screen with your other hand does get rather tiring after a while. But games like Big Brain Academy or Brain Age where you hold the game sideways are fine. The upside though, if you're playing games like Pokemon, New Super Mario Bros., or other games where you have to hold the DS with both hands, it has rounded corners now so you can play for extended periods of time now without the palms of your hands hurting. The only other downside is that games look a lot more "grainy" now, but I always thought DS games looked "grainy" to begin with. The speakers on the DSi XL are also "upgraded", I put it in quotes because I'm not sure if they upgraded them or not. But whatever they did, they put out a lot more sound than my DSi, or my brothers DS Lite, which means you don't have to wear headphones to listen to the Cut-scenes in Final Fantasy IV. The other upside, or at least for me, is that the DSi XL feels a lot more sturdier than the DSi. Other than the fact that the thing is massive, it is pretty thick, and I have no qualms with just throwing it in my backpack when I'm going from class to class at College. Also, the top of flip up screen is glossy like the DS Lite, so it does attract scratches and finger prints. But if you're an avid DS gamer like I am, that probably won't bother you. The "Pen-sized" stylus that the DSi XL comes with, is really really comfortable compared to the regular DS styli, the only downside is you have to remember to put it back into your pocket or backpack or what have you when you're done playing. Also just a note, everyone who says you can't fit this in your pocket is wrong, I can fit this beast into the pockets of 95% of my jeans plus my work Khaki's; the only ones I can't fit it into are my really skinny Skinny-Jeans. All in all, this is a great unit, and if you have a DS Phat, or DS Lite still, I'd suggest upgrading to the DSi XL. If you have the DSi already, and you struggle to see the screen, than definitely upgrade to the XL, the massive screens are easy on the eyes and allow you to see whatever games you're playing perfectly.

DUDE THIS SYSTEM ROCKS!!!!

Got my preorded dsixl at gamestop today! Let me tell you this is a beautiful system! The design,button layout,and overall feel of the dsixl is great. The system is big and bold and is lightweight. Contrary to what people think the system will easily fit into most pants pockets,and just about any jacket pocket. Now getting down to graphics I can honestly say the graphics look brighter and sharper on the dsixl than on the ds lite and dsi! The framerate and color contrast are also better in my opinoin. Games look more colorful and detailed as well as a whole lot bigger. Nintendo outdid themselves with this one! I'm in love with this device and think this is the best ds ever! Now you can really see what's going on in the game. This thing is a blast to play and tinker with the optoins like camera,sound recorder and web browser. And it barely weights anything. I could go on and on but the bottom line...THIS THING ROCKS!!!!!!!!
