If you like puzzles and don't mind being stumped for days, You will like this game. It is a little slow-going at times but I loved figuring it out. Not for young people, generally speaking.

This game was a big let down. When I was a kid I loved Deja Vu for Nintendo. This game looked very similar, so I was very excited to find it. The back of the box promotes this game as an interactive novel. Well, that's what you get. A novel. And not a very well written one at that. You spend much, much more time reading than playing. The pace of the story is painfully slow. I knew what was going on very early in the game, but was forced to wait until the game was ready to let me advance to the next puzzle. You are forced to go back and talk to the same people over and over again. The graphics are decent, but there's not much variety. Each person has one set of cheesy facial expressions and reactions. There's not much video or animation. The game has a very annoying back-and-forth display when you're talking to another person. And again, it's painfully slow talking to people. I thought the concept of this game was really exciting. The best part of the game is using the past and present vision, as well as watching the blurry images come to life as you find all the pieces. Unfortunately, these puzzles are few and get sandwiched between endless repetitive and cheesy conversation, and by the time you watch the video you already know what's going to happen. Despite the promise of shocking twists and turns, you'll know exactly what's going to happen by the time you see the vision. There is absolutely no replay value for this game at all. It takes about twelve hours to play, and then you're done. So not worth the thirty dollars I spent.

I got trace memory, simply out of boredom, and it turned out amazing. I got Hotel Dusk: Room 215 the EXACT same reason not realizing it was made by same company, and that one turned out to be a spectacular game. I hope this game lives up to the hype!!!

A new interactive mystery "novel" for the Nintendo DS, from the same people (Cing Inc.) which put out the DS games Trace Memory and Hotel Dusk: Room 215, as well as the unreleased Wii game and sequel to Trace, Another Code: R-a journey into lost memories. You'll hold the DS sideways--like a book!--as you did with Hotel Dusk, and will follow an interactive mystery story with puzzles to solve and plot twists to discover. This release looks much grittier than Hotel Dusk, and features an original story dealing with the mysterious reemergence of a serial killer. Cing games are known for their top-notch quality, innovative gameplay and beautiful visuals, not to mention their fabulous, haunting soundtracks. Don't let this release chart under your radar; if you loved Cing's earlier games, or are, perhaps, fans of Ace Attorney or Professor Layton, you will definitely want to pick this one up. Comes out March 30th, so only a few weeks to go. Pre-order, as the print run looks to be limited.
