Why isn't this game played more?!
This game is perfect for: casual gamers
Hi reader, I first want to say that this was a game that I was unsure of when I picked it up. I knew so little about it! However, very soon after playing I was pleasantly surprised at how good this game was! The general idea is that you are a guy (Tapeu) and you lead around a big creature called the Majin. You give him orders and using this incredibly unique dynamic, solve fun and challenging puzzles while leveling up in an rpg-like fasion. You get new powers for the Majin as you progress and gain combo powers that you work together with during combat.
The story is a little weak, but the way it is told is really good. It uses side scrolling/silhouette style cut scenes to tell the fairly emotional past of the Majin. Like I said the puzzles are challenging and require you to use every skill you know, but are rarely impossible to figure out. The collectables are plentiful and collecting them is definitely worthwhile as most improve you or the Majin in some way. Combat feels good and involves some planning because you give the Majin orders while attacking enemies yourself.
The graphics of this game are not its strong point if you are playing on a HD tv. There are a few texture issues and facial expressions are kinda bad, however for the most part the graphics are good enough and get the job done. The Majin can do some stupid stuff every once in a while too... like fall on his face when you are in a hurry, but again for the most part the AI is good. There were a few times that I noticed the controls were slightly less responsive then I would have liked, but not a big issue and only affected maybe 1 or 2 puzzles.
This is truly a fun game. It feels so good to play and is great if you just want a game to casually saunter through. Unlike a lot of platformers this game also had very few frustrating parts which is always a plus. I hope you can see that the game has a lot of strong points with very few serious issues. Definitely give this game a chance if you are unsure of what to grab off that used games shelf. :)
I was really unsure when I picked this game up, but for $10 I figured it was a decent buy for trying out some games for my recently acquired xbox 360. I ended up playing it before any of my others, and I swear I did not move until I was finished with it. I adored the characters, I loved loved LOVED the storyline(and I'm very picky about my plots) The gameplay itself was really nice! I occasionally got stumped on puzzles, but not anything that after futzing with I couldn't solve on my own. Battle was simple and was not the main focus, so if you prefer to whack things, this may not be a game for you, but I thought that the battles were good enough I remember being stuck on the final fight(something that happens often with me)and right when I was about to scream and stomp away, I beat the boss. I loaned it to a friend and unfortunately haven't seen it again...but I am DEFINITELY buying it again because I dearly want to re-play it. Seriously, if you like plot, if you enjoy puzzles and if you like loveable characters- pick this game! I really hope there is a second installment someday
This game offers an interesting story and very unique and stable controls. It's just the voice-work got on my nerves, so I turn the voice down and turned on the subtitles.. But what bird sounds like a valley-girl? Regardless, the game offers a lot more than what you're paying for like a great combo system, a long story, challenging puzzles, and probably one the most unique combat mechanics yet.. Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is great and is a true gem that I recommend for anybody to pick up
I played the demo for this and was satisfied. I love the games of the "NOW GEN" compared to the plot less games I played in the Seventies and early Eighties. I've played a many of games in my years and am tired the run/gun/hack/slash/burn/chop/head shot/make em drop/all for not video games. When a game is released that has the feel of a movie that I am playing in, "I'm on it!!" I just pray that the AI isn't stuck on stupid like the AI in "Army of Two".
I think this game looks very exciting. I am definetly going to buy it. There seems to be a one minor flaw; it looks like a knock off of Enslaved: Odessy to the West.

great looking game
as to respond to the comment made by monstrous10 it isnt a knock off of enslaved in anyway. look at the graphices the texture the enemies and the gameplay it is basically a cousin of prince of persia on 360. although it be the same style it is still a great game and well worth it 10/10

the whole idea of having a giant monster AI as a partner in a game to fight and solve puzzles just seem amazing the demo hardly scratches the surface im giving it a 10/10
