i love this game the charaters and story are great. the coustimization could have used a little work. you could coustimize your wepons for upgrades but unlucky its hard for so people to get good gems to power up with. i love that u can change the name. a long with a good plot and the well detailed charaters. it was an amazing game. i think it would have been nice if we got to hear the charaters talk. my favorite part of the game is that u can take your time to play the game u can upgrade your wepons for the stronger battles. we found that toan's and goro's best place to level up wepons is Divine Beast Cave if the wepon is a low level we found that u should level up xiao and ruby is wise owl forest i say a great over all game and any role-playing game lover should play this. the plot and grapics are amazing. A MUST BUY FOR RPG PLAYERS

Three
Best Console RPG Of the last gen.
PostedMay 30, 2010
This game here would have to be the Highlight of my RPG career. I remember when i first played this game, and i absolutely loved it. And I'm even going to try and re-purchase it because i had sold my PS2 a while ago, and playing the PSone classics on my PS3 Made me fondly remember these games. but that is another story. Speaking of which, this game's is absolutely Great. It centers around a kid from a town who is nameless (Player name-able) when an evil djinn attacks and destroys his village on a festival of sorts, and some mage (bear with me, i played this 4 years ago) had protected the village (in a sense) and made it so the Kid can rebuild the town with some power imbued on a gauntlet given to the kid. The story basically continues onward after that. oh yeah, did i forget to mention the flying dog thing with horns that befriends the kid? i think i did.

Hikari
One of the best games on Playstation 2.

I will start by saying that the moment I tried this game I instantly fell in love with it. I found the sequel to be EXTREMELY disappointing compared to this one. Now, to start with categories: STORY: I find the storyline in this game to be incredibly well-done. Two worlds never interconnecting, and one summons a powerful genie who destroys the other. However, one boy named Toan survives his village's destruction, and has to travels through many dungeons collecting the many pieces of the world using the power of the Atlamillia. As you get further into the game, many secrects will be revealed, and the entire story is just very captivating. GAMEPLAY: The gameplay might seem a lot like Kingdom Hearts and Zelda mixed together. In dungeons, you fight enemies, (can use a lock-on feature like in Zelda) and can gain experience for your weapons. Yes, that's right; rather than leveling-up the character, it's the weapons that are leveled up. However your characters can be leveled up in three ways; their thirst meter, their health meter, and their level of defense. Outside dungeons, however, you can walk around and speak to the people residing in the place you are restoring, then you can restore the place by using the Georama feature. The overall gameplay of the game is very simple to use and easy to master. SOUND: The music in this game is incredible. Whenever I began playing the game, I would always listen to the main theme before starting up the game. Some of the best music I've ever heard in games. GRAPHICS: Graphics aren't what makes a game good, so it will not affect my overall opinion of the game. Now, the graphics are good. I'm able to see the characters and their facial expressions, movements, and everything else just fine. But for its age, there were much nicer-looking graphics then (Final Fantasy X, for example), but it doesn't really matter. Now, one complaint would be the backgrounds during cutscenes. They are very blurry, and it just doesn't look well. I think they could have given a bit more time to fix that. LENGTH: This game is pretty darn long. At average, it would take maybe 30 hours to complete, not including the 100-level dungeon after completion of the game. A good length for a game. OVERALL: Overall, this game is wonderful. If anyone is familiar with the Proffesor Layton series, you may know of Level-5. Dark Cloud was Level-5's first game, and it remains to be my favorite of them all. For their first game, this is a job well done. My hats off to you, Level-5. Now, if there is anyone who is looking to play an RPG/Action/Adventure game on the PS2, this is what I recommend. And for only *** dollars, I will say it now: Buy this game.
