Best Portable Kingdom Hearts Yet
PostedAugust 7, 2011
Out of all the prequels, interquels, sidestories, and spinoffs Sqeenix has made for Handheld devices, this one is the best yet. I love the command melding, it is definitely the best way to earn commands yet. The graphics are really good, but still can't get away from the choppy PSP curse. The gameplay is really good, and it is extremely addictive if you know what you are doing. Grinding and completing the the not necessive parts of the game - like finding treasure chests - still has a point if you want to unlock te secret movie at the end.I love the music! It always makes everything more epic! My only complaint is that if they want to follow console game's traditions, (which was obvious they wanted to, they would not have made the gameplay so similar then) they should stick to it. They can't miss out major elements like Gummy Ships! How could their not be Gummy Ships? I was dissapointed when I found out the beloved space cruisers were excluded from the game. But overall, the third best Kingdom Hearts game yet, behind the original and it's sequel obviously. Good for both long time fans (like me), and newcomers to the series. You don't need to know previous stories because it is a prequel. You need to be a hardcore gamer, though. I'm completely serious about this - casual gamers will not make the most of this game and will not experience it to it's fullest. To end it I will say with a non-sarcastic tone, the best PSP game yet.

Stands up to the console version!
PostedAugust 5, 2011
I liked 358/2 days and re:coded but they lack one thing, and that's the amount of effort put into them! In Birth by Sleep, there are plenty of voiced cutscenes, action commands and graphics that can totally compare to the console versions! Now, the story may be a bit confusing but most Kingdom Hearts are! That's why you get a friend like me who's obsessed with it! This prequel pretty much shows how Ansem (KH1 final boss) and Xemnas (KH2 final boss) came to be. It also explains a crucial fact that points to the main villian in this game (Master Xehanort) returning in a future Kingdom Hearts game!

Great additon to the Series
PostedJuly 30, 2011
Square Enix took a fresh approach to the origins of the Keyblade and its wielders. The different perspectives of each character really sheds light into the aspects of the story and how it all ties together. The game play was of the original style of the first Kingdom Hearts (hack and slash) but with some new changes that allowed for more creativity and combinations for melee, magic, and special moves. To understand the new game play style might take a little bit of time to understand, but once you get the hang of it, the game will become easier and more fun. The worlds you explore in the game are not regurgitated from the first one and give the player a fresh look at worlds instead of feeling like you've played this game before. Highly recommended for those just beginning in the series and for those who are veterans to the series and are looking for something fresh and new to the story.
