I wasn't taken aback by this game but I wasn't disappointed either. I grew up on Kingdom Hearts, so them game would have to be EXTREMELY special to wow me, but it was a good addition to the series. For those who say this was an essential part of the story... maybe when KH3 comes out it will be, but it seems Squaresoft sleep within the heart of this age's Square Enix... and boy have they held on to their convoluted story weaving. Not that that is a bad thing, it just made the game less fresh and more cognitive than the glorious KH of old (KH1) which was deep for it's eerie and beautiful simplicity. Gameplay in KH:BBS was mediocre and the system was... well... it seemed to try too hard to implement the new age trend of timed commands with the old feel. Many of the enemies were not at all memorable (unlike the good old heartless gang) and this could never hope to be a stand alone title (you have to play KH 1 and 2... and maybe one or two of the others to appreciate this). The story was good... and even touching... but you have to have followed the rest closely. As with all Square games the musical score was fantastic and the graphics were out of this world (considering it is a PSP game). True grit KH fan? Buy this for sure and discuss its abstract meanings with your friends for hours! Not so much a fan? Give it a shot anyway.... the minigames are VERY fun/addictive and the game overall stands as a solid title.

SURPRISING TWISTS

During the game you play as three different keyblade weilders: Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. Terra's story is my favorite. he has really powerful attacks. Aqua's story was kinda boring in the beginning but it got better. Ventus' story was pretty cool. In the end something happens to Terra and Ventus. I'm not going to tellyou because if I did it would ruin the whole story, so buy it to find out.

Wow. What else is there to say about BBS? The gameplay is adicting and the graphics are awsome during gameplay and beautiful during cut-scenes, especaly the ones at the begining and end of the game. If you have not playd a KH game yet, this is a great place to start becuse this is the begining of the story line so far. Alucard out.
First of all, this game is not a side story; it is necessary to fully understand the Kingdom Hearts 3D and anything after that. Terra's story was the best, Aqua's was a bit dull, and Ventus's was good. I like playing a Terra the most because I could way waist to masses of unversed. Overall storyline really shed some light on the events from past games as well as hint of whats to come (Epic Level Foreshadowing...ELF). I would highly recommend this to any fan of the franchise.
