Favorite game of all time
PostedNovember 21, 2011
I am a HUGE Kingdom Hearts fan so when Square Enix came out with another side story I wasn't exactly thrilled. I bought a PSP just for this game because it did look great although all i wanted was KH3. So glad I did. Its a prequel to the series, happens 10 years before KH1 to be exact. You play in the POV of three different characters, Aqua, Terra, and Ventus. Although you repeat the worlds for every character each time is different and it puts all the pieces of the puzzle together until you come to the final ending, which you play after completeing all three characters, in the POV of Aqua. As far as gameplay goes you have these things called "finish commands" you get after putting togerther a combination of magic and attacks (ex. sliding dash + blizzard = diamond dust). There are numerous combinations you can come up and are a fun way to stop hitting the X button over and over again. Shocklock is another gameplay plus exclusive in BBS. You have a guage that when it fills up you hold the back L+R buttons and create a consecutive attack when locked on to the enemy- another fun plus! There is no speech bubbles in this game. EVERYTHING is cutscenes which was a huge surprise to me. The graphics are fantastic, but not always as intense as the opening scene ones. Theater mode is available after completion of each story which is amazing and surprising due to the abundance of cutscenes. The story line is so emotional, deep, and answers all the questions the other kingdom heart games left you. Why does Sora have the keyblade? Why does Roxas look the way he does? Why does Xigbar have his scar? (Ha) You even me the 8 original Originization 13 members before they were turned into nobodys (Ex. Axel was Lea, Saix was Isa, Xigbar was Braig, Xaldin was Dilan) It is by far my favorite Kingdom Hearts game and even my favorite game ever. The secret ending is definitely worth the extra effort (it made me cry). Everything links back to the beginning. If you are a kingdom hearts fan its a must. If you are looking to get into KH, you can start here since it is first in the timeline. Even if you dont play the series, this is still a fanstic game to get. Intense storyline, creative gameplay, and high def graphis makes this a game I would reccomend to anyone!

pretty amazing game but it has a few flaws

alright so lets get this review started first ill start with the story the story starts with you seeing ventus in a white cloak with a fractured heart he joins with a mystery light and it goes to basic training with ven then you spare with who youd like and then itl ask you to choose a characters story the story really helps peice together questions that were left un answered from the other kh games like how sora was able to use a keyblade and why riku is natraly kind hearted but dark and it tells why there are so few keyblade users and why roxas doesnt look like sora it just really helps you understand thingsand characters visit the same areas so some stuff gets repeated it gets a bit frustrating but its alright its still great story now onto the sound the sound is pretty much similar to past kh games with some variety amazing voice acting from snow white to cinderela and other past disney characters and it has simple and clean from the first kh game and an opening scene that has amazing look to it now for graphics the graphics are way better than alot of psp games ive seen it does look identicle to the ps2 kh games and the animation of skills is amazing now for the gameplay theres no mp just a skill list and the skills recharge after being used you can fuse skills and fuse skills with items and abilities such as firaga and glide you get fire glide thundera and dodge roll thunder roll and it feels like a traditional kh game but still has the weird camera at times and some platform jumping with characters like terra who cant jump to well this gets annoying ven is he better jumoper of the three aqua is a spell slinger ven is the combo fast paced fighting character terra is the dark brute force fighting and they have some form of drive things that help and are fun to experiment with and even after you beat all three stories theres still more to do in all your looking at 15 to 25 hours in each story depending on who you are the mode and if you collect everything and goof around i still play even after beating it just for the fun of it a thing that got me dissapointed all the characters share most of the same keyblades but have a set of there own to but those are limited till much later in the game the bosses are great they give achallenge and require you to find a good weakness there are only a few party fights tho so if you feel that you needed donald and goofy in past games you might be annoyed with this game it annopyed me at first but i got used to it the upside is you dont have to rely on them or keep healing goofy or anything oh and theres a focus bar for these limit skill things that are way powerfull and they have a "d link" system which give you the abilities and features of characters youve befreinded and they have a good set of mini games from an arena and racing to a board game that help with skills overall apeal is very well put together amazing game if your a kh fan youl love it but it does have the annoying talk of hearts and freindship and light every few cutscenes so thats a bit annoying the overall rate that i give it is 9.7 well designed game great skills ect iff yuou want my video review comment on this review and ill make one with my birth by sleep bundle pack

A Great Game to add to your Collection

If I could describe Kingdom Hearts: BBS in one word, I would say amazing. The graphics are pretty good, and there is a great story line. You can choose between 3 heroes to start with, Ventus, Terra, or Aqua. The game includes a new battle system, different from the previous KH games, with the additions of the Command Board, Command System, and D-Links. As you progress through the game, you meet familiar Disney characters like Snow White, the Seven Dwarves, Mickey Mouse, and even Zack from Final Fantasy VII. This is a great game if you are a fan of Final Fantasy or action role playing. The only thing I don't like about this game is that each character you can play goes to the same planets. It's not that big of a problem, so don't let that stop you from buying this great game. If you want a game that will get your heart pumping, Kingdom Hearts: BBS is the game for you.
