An Awesome Game For Hardcore Gamers
PostedFebruary 19, 2011
Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake is a great game with great graphics, lasting appeal and gameplay. This is a great game to wind down on or to pump yourself up on. The hilarious story of the two princesses getting fat will make you absolutely chuckle. The storyline is great, espicially with the extended story line. Also there is multiplayer which is great too, and you still have all the fun mini game such as Rescue the Princess, Grim Reaper, etc. Plus there is also dozens of locations in the game at which you can choose to fight at my favorite being Tropical Punch which makes me chuckle too. The storyline being told also has a great narrorator with a very deep and throaty voice and hilarious catch phrases such as: There at our base killing our dudes, The enemy has the princess! etc. So the Narroration is absouloutely great too. Overall this is a great game for the casual gamer looking for fun or a hardcore gamer ready to battle. I wouldn't reccommend it for kids 9 and under because of all the blood in the game(there is quite a lot !). So like I said this is a great game and if you don't have it, BUY IT and for $20.00 how can you go wrong!

Fat 4 Life
Best PSP title ever
PostedJune 22, 2010
This game is the best psp game I have ever picked up the graphics are great for the psp and the replay value is outstanding. There were only two things i found bad about this game. The first is that in fistful of cake the they put the warrior on steriods, an he is superior to the other classes because when he uses his charge attack he can kill a group of dudes in one hit. Second, is that when you change the difficulty they dont seem much harder they just have more hearts. Some great things are the graphics because all those people that say that there not that great compared to ps3 are wrong! they are awesome on psp, and why would you ever compare ps3 graphics to psp? I think the coolest feature is the funny narrator because he has this funny british accent. The customization is pretty cool because you can make your skin green or some other crazy color so you stand out. The only things this game is Voice chat for online play, and they need DLC for psp version too not just for the PS3.

Fat Princess... a massive hit on the PS3, the game coming to the PSP was my dream! It came true on May 5, 2010 when the game was released. I got to my local Gamestop, and for a mere ** dollars, i purchased quite possibly my favorite PS3 title. I ripped open the package and popped in that UMD. The starting screen had the memorable fat princess theme song, along with the crude humor sub-menus like "Play with yourself" and "Play with others," Just like PS3... ALRIGHT skipped right over the controls and tips stuff, and jumped right into the main campaign. The Legend of the Fat Princess. The loading menu often holds tips and sometimes funny things like "TIP: the Grim reaper is like a cross between a dark mage, a warrior and a can a whoop-ass." First glance of the game, the graphics are pretty good... a little bit fuzzier than the PS3 version, but about as good as it gets on the PSP. You pick up Hats which turn you into 1 of 5 different classes... ranger, like a robin hood, warrior, a badass spartan, healer, the name tells you everything, worker, collects the ever important logs and minerals used to upgrade things, and finally the mage, thiiinnnkkk... gandalf (sp?). The Game is actually very challenging and i often found myself swearing at the screen because we lost a Teamdeathmatch game by 2 points... Controls are solid... attack with Square, Pick up with Circle, X to jump, and Triangle to do not much... the joystick to move character, and the arrows shout commands or taunts which are virtually useless online. The narrator in the story often yells things like "they are in our base, killing our dudes" to warn you to get back to base and get them out... but not only that, he also tells you when teammates have broken into the enemy castle and to charge and keep the attack going. Story is funny with the king swearing and all, but often times it has a lot of repetition and sometimes was frustrating because the missions were pretty hard... Online is fun and i always seem to find a match, and your character is fully customizable... WOOHOO!!!! Overall, fat princess is a fantastic game for the ****** dollars and i recommend it to everybody

Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake is, at it's core, a port of the original PS3 PSN game. I will not be discussing the game mechanics as they are the same as it's PS3 counterpart. However, there are some differences, most notably is the expanded single-player storyline. The single player campaign, while not particularly engaging or making a whole lot of sense for that matter, was enjoyable and kept me hooked in to see what new twists were going to be thrown in next. With this new single-player campaign, Legend of the Fat Princess, comes new maps. This version of Fat Princess includes all the original maps from the PS3 version including those added after it's initial release as well as several more, six I believe. And with these new maps comes also new game types. There are several new game types, while not very different from the modes we are already accustomed to, they do help to break up the redundancy. Of the three new modes, Demolition, Jail Break, and Grim Reaper, Grim Reaper is the most unique. It has its own unique map as well as unique hat which turns the lucky player to hold it into a supreme killing machine, pitting all the remaining players against the one. It really is loads of fun to play, and while not as strategic as the other modes, there's definitely something to like here for the more action-oriented gamer.

Challenge - Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake is not an easy game to say the least. I never tried any other difficulty level than hard however, but I found it to provide just the right challenge. There were many single player missions that took me several tries to overcome. Some upwards of five or more and others in a single attempt. The game did start to get a bit easier as I progressed because it seems that the game didn't get harder. As I learned new strategies and techniques, the game never seemed to really compensate for them. It never got easy, but there just wasn't the same mild frustration I had with the difficultly level of the more middle stages. You can change the difficultly level at any time though which is great if you're needing to overcome a tricky stage.

Controls - The controls in this game are solid. The PSP is able to handle this game quite efficiently. There's never a time when a second joystick is needed or anything like that. The only qualm I have with the controls is the map. In order to bring up the map (which you will do alot if you're going to go into the fight with any plan), you must press the select button. While this in it of itself isn't a bad thing, it makes it pretty impossible to walk around looking at you're map ready for an attack because you have to hold down the square button to charge your attack. Again, this isn't a deal-breaking problem in the least, but can be a nuisance at times. Other than that, the controls are customizable in that the shoulder button can be switched and the face buttons can be altered.

Graphics/Animation - The graphics in this game are quite well done. For a PSP title, I think they could have been a little bit better however. The graphics are still cute and vivid, but there are some rough textures that didn't need to be. The shadow effects are a nice touch and the blood is still as red and rampant as ever. This title is less gory that the PS3 version. There are no body parts flying around as far as I could tell (it would be hard to pick out such a small body part to such a small person on such a small screen anyways). The blood can also be turned off at any time through the settings menu. So for those who need a more child-appropriate or simply less bloody title, don't write this game off yet.

Interface - The menus in this game are very cute and clever. It took me a little bit of time to get used to the menus as they don't plainly tell you things like single-player or multi-player, but rather Play with Yourself or Play with Others. The game interface is very neat, it easily show
