Call of Duty: The War Collection

Call of Duty 2: Call of Duty 2 redefines the cinematic intensity and chaos of battle as seen through the eyes of ordinary soldiers fighting together in epic WWII conflicts. The sequel to 2003's Call of Duty, winner of over 80 Game of the Year awards, Call of Duty 2 offers more immense, more intense, more realistic battles than ever before, thanks to the stunning visuals of the new COD 2 engine. Call of Duty 3:The follow-up to the #1 next-generation game, Call of Duty®3 delivers the intensity of being closer than ever to the fury of combat during the Normandy Breakout, the historic campaign that made the liberation of Paris possible and brought the Allies a step closer to Berlin. Through a seamless narrative that delivers the rush of unrelenting battle and breathtaking action, players assume the roles of four ordinary Allied soldiers - American, British, Canadian and Polish - and are thrust onto an authentic, living battlefield for an unprecedented variety of combat, with advanced high-definition graphics, detailed character animations and explosive on-screen action, delivering the most immersive and cinematically intense war experience ever.Call of Duty: World at War:Call of Duty®: World at War completely changes the rules of engagement by redefining WWII gaming and thrusting players into the final tension-filled, unforgiving battles against a new ferocious enemy in the most dangerous and suspenseful action ever seen in WWII. Powered by Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare technology, Call of Duty®: World at War brings an uncensored edge to combat, as soldiers face the most harrowing and climatic European and Pacific battles in which an enemy, who knows no surrender and no retreat, will fight to the last breath, unleashing an arsenal of lethal surprising tactics.  Peril and danger lurk throughout the battlefield as players combat the unknown risk of the new chaos of battle. From the remains of Russia and the ruins of Berlin, to the beach and jungles of the deadly Pacific Theater, the volatile action takes on added depth as players employ new features that previously were only-available in multiplayer, including perks, rankings and online stats in up-to full four-player cooperative gameplay. New infantry and vehicle-based weapons, like the potent flamethrower, bring the battlefield ablaze.

Call of Duty: The War Collection is a great buy first off. Three good Call of Duty games in one pack is excellant. Down to the actual game. Since there are 3 games, I'll do this in 3 sections in chronological order. First Call of Duty 2. Now this game may be a bit dated, but don't go thinking it's obsolete. Yes the graphics are not as advanced as they are with newer games, but the gameplay is solid. Controls are easy enough to master, and experienced shooter players will have no trouble getting used to them. Sound is good, but not the best I've ever heard. The interface is simple. The plot is your basic WW2 stories, starting in Stalingrad(Russian), moving to North Africa(British), and finally to Europe(American, British). Secondly Call of Duty 3. This is a solid game with pretty good graphics. Just as with the previous, controls are simple, sound is good, but slightly better then 2, and the interface is just as simple. The plot is much more narrow then other WW2 shooters. It focuses on the Normandy break out, something not usually featured in some WW2 games. Four distinct storylines(American soliders, British commandos, Canadian soliders, and Polish tankers) while seemingly unconnected, intermingle near the end. There is also some choice to how you go about some missions, but not game changing stuff. Finally Call of Duty: World at War. First off, this game is much more violent then the first two, so children beware(the games does come with a optional content restrictions feature that tones down the cursing, blood, and gore). Graphics are excellant, on par with more modern games. Controls are almost identical to Call of Duty 2 & 3. Interface is good & simple. Sound is excellant, among the best I've ever heard. Plot is interesting, you travel from the American island hopping of the pacific to the russian Battle of Stalingrad & the Battle for Berlin and back again. Like Call of Duty 3, there is some choice, but more moral then tactical in the russian missions. No review of World at War would be complete without a mention of the famous "Nazi Zombies" level. It's fun, and will likely entertain you well after the main campaign. All in all, Call of Duty: The War Collection is a must buy for lovers of the Call of Duty series & WW2 shooter fans

Good games not bad but World at War is better than Call of Duty 2 and 3 Call of duty 2 and 3 are not bad. But I say you should buy this. But you could also just go buy World at War cause I mean its the best of the three.

I love this bundle pack for many reasons, it has the award winning Call of Duty 2, the best selling Call of Duty 3, and the realistic game with zombies game, Call of Duty WAW. All of these games are awesome, COD WAW is my favorite because it's so realistic and zombies! The others also rock, but enemies don't respond as well as the new call of dutys. I wish this game had MW, the original Modern Warfare.

I'm guessing the publisher's wallet is running dry because of this release. Milking the license for everything it's worth. And at this point, it's NOT worth sixty dollars. If you're a savvy shopper you should be able to find all of these titles individually for considerably less than the new price. On average at used game stores and even here at GS you should find these titles at the highest point for no more than 45 bucks. And considering that this installment offers absolutely nothing new, added, or featured other than what was already afforded by the original releases...move along unless you need a money sink. As a result I will only be grading everything at a 1 on the scale, but not in regards to the game's quality, I am after all a huge fan of the series.

Dude. It's just a game bundle. Cool it. It wasn't made to be a different version of each installation. It's just a bundle, making purchasing all 3 games much cheaper. 2 of the games were game of the year, anyway. Call of Duty 3 sucked, but it's okay.

These games were good games, but newer, better games have come out. In stead of buying three outdated games you could buy Call of Duty Black ops which has zombies like the game in this package and it has better graphics, sound, gameplay, replayability, and multiplayer. if you are just some call of duty fanatic who wants to own all of the games, go ahead. but i would save my money to get a worthwhile game. If you are looking for better shooter or zombie games, check my recomendations

Call of Duty 2 is a good game, Call of Duty 3 was okay and Call of Duty World at War is the best of all three. Not only that but you save at least $20. Love the original Zombies. Also Call of Duty World at War has online Co-Op to help you get through the Campaign on Veteran.
