This is a good buy, not if you’re a kid, not if you’re a serious gamer, but if you are a casual gamer, playing on the old Gameboy games, if you don't care about the pixels, and if you are sick of tiny systems. The XL is comfortable in your hands and it performs the same as the DSi. Most importantly, you can see the game, the screen is clear and easy to look at. Some people say that the screen res doesn't change, they are right. To be honest, the resolution is too high on the normal DSi, too many pixels in too small a space. This results in a blur in the worst possible place, the game text. The letters are fuzzy and not always easy to read. These are not high quality screens, they all still have pixels and can be blurry to the eyes, the XL is comfortable to look at, and most of the people I show it to say "Wow you can see the game." If you are looking for a system to buy, I would recommend this, as it is the most comfortable hand held put out by Nintendo for a while now.

This DS system not only has two cameras on it it is also really big which makes it easier to play, I think. The games for it are awesome and it has an ok price on it. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who has played a nintendo style game before.

I've had the XL for just over a year now. I started with a bronze model but it recently swapped it out for the blue one. Of all the models I've owned this is my favorite. Not only is it the perfect size for my hands the screen size makes the game more enjoyable. I don't get how anyone can berate this system for lack of a now defunct GBA slot. If you want to play GBA get a DS Lite.
