Awesome Except....

This new DS here is one of the best updated models Nintendo has came out with. It has a lot to offer and the screen is perfect for those who play with friends around. Sounds perfect, works perfectly, but my main turn off for updated models of the Nintendo DS is the lack of a gameboy advance slot. I still play gameboy advance games time to time, but other than that, this thing here is a great product for those who are new to DS handhelds or just looking for an upgrade. Its fun to play around with the camera and add silly effects to them, makes it fun to take photos of friends and family. What I do like about the DSi XL is the size of the screen and the colorfully graphics it display, the colors are more brighter than my old first model DS. I highly recommend this product unless you're waiting for the Nintendo 3DS that's coming out next year.

should I have waited?

If I had known they would come out with more colors, maybe I would have waited. I do like this blue color! I have the maroon color. Color aside, I like the XL. However, there are some who would be happier with the Lite or the DSi. For instance, children under, say, 13 might be happier with a smaller DS. But as an older person (early 50's), the XL is great because it's much easier to see what's on the screen and hear what's coming out of the speakers. It's also easier to get a grip and handle the various buttons. And the larger, pen-style stylus (I just wish there was a place to secrete it on the system itself). My son still has his Lite, and when I compare the two, the ONLY thing about the lite that recommends it over the XL is the port for GA games.

~Design. The Design is improved over the DS Lite. The Size is larger so People with Larger Hands or bigger fingers will be able to hold it better and with more ease. If your Vision isn’t the greatest the larger screens makes it MUCH easier to see almost everything. The Quality is also good Very few problems with the System. The Battery Life Is also Improved/Updated over the DSi. And the Stylist is better as well. The Top of the System has a nice shiny, Glossy, finish to it. While the Bottom where the Buttons Are has a better firmer, easier to grip feel to them. Sadly Button size didn’t increase and the Cameras resolution didn’t increase any over the DSi…. ~Graphics. The Graphics are the same as the Original DS, The DS Lite, and the Original DSi. But the Bigger, brighter screens makes it “Pop” much more so Colors and image quality looks better. The Bigger screen size (Only for some games) Warps them and make them look Jagged and blurry. But the DSi XL has the same Amount of brightness settings as the Original DSi (So 5 Brightness settings, 1 more than DS Lite). ~Sound. The Enhanced speakers on the DSi and DSi XL are MUCH MUCH better than the DS Lite. They Produce a much Cleaner, Clearer, Smoother, Crisper, Louder sound quality, And you can customize and control the sound. The Microphone Is also improved over The DS Lite. The sound is Awesome and MUCH better than DS lite in Short… ~Functionality. The Functionality of the DSi XL is well… Great! It’s a Camera, An internet Browser, and Communication Device, A Gaming system, and An MP3 player all in one…. ~Performance. The Performance of the DSi XL is Astounding I mean it can Handle Being Dropped, and Stepped on even Water Spilling on it and it still works. I even made it a work horse and gave it to my friends younger brother (Who Breaks anything within seconds of holding it) For a WHOLE week, and he said it worked fine. And even after getting it back from him it still works fine (Well… Almost fine Lol). So if you have a DS Lite And Want to Upgrade, Then Go for it and get The XL. And if you Havent Owned A DS before then get the XL. Its worth it….

I love dsiXL I will tell you some cool stuff about it it . it has a camera it has flip note studios it has brain age it has nintendo dsi sound.even has nintendo dsi browser. all i can tell you.

The Dsi XL is just the same thing as the dsi.The only different thing is that it is bigger with a bigger pen and bigger screens.So what if it comes with 3 pre installed titles.I dont want stretch marks in my shorts or pants. The dsi has no new features that are different from the dsi.by features I mean like downloads,games,memory, and all that other stuff that have to do with harddrive.I do have to admit that the new Midnight blue design of the dsi has got me interested in its collors.But I would still rather get a regular dsi.The dsi xl may be better for at home playing but when it comes to playing outside like taking it on the train then the dsi wins.The system is so big that my fingers probably wont even reach the buttons.The dsi is better hands down.
