The future of gaming is here! Kinect isn't kidding when they say "YOU are the controller!" Anyone can step in and start playing right away. As of right now, voice commands only work on the menu and in movies, but I'm sure that will expand later on. I have Adventures, Dance Central, and Kinect Sports. All are excellent titles and must haves to start. These games all feature full body motion to play. You are sure to get a workout playing for any length of time! Be sure to follow instructions for setup. The only downside is you've got to be sure you have enough room to play. My living room is kind of cramped, but still passes the acceptable amount of room at ~6ft. Although, 6ft+ from the tv and sensor is really recommended. As for any other titles, there are quite a few free demos on the marketplace to check out before you buy. Overall with Kinect, you will not be disappointed. Lots of fun for family and friends!
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW What a good ad- on for your Xbox! It was very cool the way it makes it feel real. The Wii will go down now. And soon would have to make something better! The wii was easy to fool in the gameplay just move the remote and it does something. Kinect is Very VERY hard to fool because you have to stand up in order to plaY! This will make people be active more! The should Make Kinect Runner in which you can run! Also Guitar Hero 7 for kinect in which you get a guitar/Drum controller that is real or close to real to play and you move on stage! Also Grand Theft Auto V! Mortal Kombat! That would be nice it was very fun so was Kinect Adventures Get this not a Wii!
The Kinect is a great product. Probably one of the coolest features is the voice control of the xbox system. Granted it would be nice to have more control options, but the basics that are offered so far are impressive.
Kinect Adventures is a pretty fun game. My favorite subgames are the Rally Ball ones where the player(s) have to hit a ball into a bunch of blocks and targets which bounce the ball back and the player(s) try to keep bouncing it back at the blocks and target until they all disappear. You can easily work up a good sweat playing these. Just make sure you clean a good area to play the games as you can find yourself easily stepping on and bumping into things. The responsiveness of the kinect system with this game is ok. It can lag a bit, but for a first generation game and for what all the kinect system is processing it is pretty impressive.
I think that this system has a lot of potential as long as the developers push it to its limit and Microsoft puts out some updates to add to its capabilities. Games that cater to the kids through to the hardcore gamers would really push the Kinect to become a game changer. Rightn ow it is just an addon that has some cool features. If they do continue to push the stem it has the potential to kill the Wii. It would be nice if they had an addon Wii/Move like controller for those times when you need some added functionality to the movement system. Not sure how an FPS type game would work properly without a trigger button of some sort.
If you're going to buy the Kinect system pick up a couple of other games too like Dance Central and/or Kinect Sports. This way you have a few options and cater to the different taste of whoever is playing.
Just got the Kinect for Christmas and I'm having alot of fun with it. The sensor works much better than I thought it would and there is minimal lag. The hand motion controls are very responsive and the voice commands work pretty well, there is a little delay when the Kinect sends the command to the Xbox but I have an older model Xbox so maybe that's the reason. The only issue that I've had with it so far is that it has a little trouble recognizing me when I have my glasses on but if I take them off it works just fine. Kinect Adventures is fun and addicting, my girlfriend and I have been playing non-stop. I will be going out to pick up Kinect Sports and Dance Central this week.
