Almost the complete package!

Let me be the first to say that the new Xbox 360 is heading in the right direction when it comes to how a next gen system should look! But all is not good when it comes to the refresh if the system, first I hate the it has a glossy finish to it because it gets dirty in seconds and scratches can happen easily! Second the 360 is still using a disc tray and the only system that still uses it, and the new 360 still has a rather large power brick... Now the good, the new model offers touch sensitive buttons, wireless built-in, cool sounds when you touch the touch sensitive button and does run slightly more quite. Now the great thing about Xbox is that it still has the BEST online service to date and offers so much more than any other system does. Netflix, Last FM, ESPN are some of the extra services that it offers outside of there own market place. Now to KINECT! Well what can I say its a really cool thought but still need a lot of improvements to it to make it more accurate and user friendly, and if you plan on getting kinect make sure you have a lot off room at least 8 feet or more to work properly! But if you have the space get kinect because its just so much fun!!!! A great way to get up and get into all the games that you play with it that supports kinect! The games are not great to say the least but they do offer unique experiences that makes you come back for more. Despite some of the flaws that comes with the system and kinect that doesn't allow me to give it a perfect score its still a great bundle and the price is not bad at all and 250gigs is never a bad thing!!!!

I love my xbox 360. I've owned almost every game console that's ever been produced. So far my xbox 360 has been my favorite, add in the kinect, and well it just can't be beat. If you're a true "gamer" you'll want the xbox 360 and the PS3, they both have a lot to offer. Halo for example can't be played on the PS3, Halo is an awesome first person shooter that any gamer, male or female, will love. The PS3 has God of War, also an excellent game. The only way to play them is to own the systems. Now this may seem like a complete waste of money to some, but for my family it was the only way to go. We however are not going to purchase the PS3 "move" since we have the Kinect, I prefer my body being the controller. If you're wondering what system is best for small children the Wii may be the best bang for your buck, but if you're wanting a system the whole family can enjoy, go for the xbox 360, you won't be sorry. You also won't have to worry about a controller being thrown through your TV.

What they don't tell you

Well, the Kinect works. Kinda.
Pros: Well, it does what it says. You can play games with it. It knows who you are...sometimes, and in general is a neat toy.
Cons: It's laggy. You can't play shooters or RPG's with it... or anything else. The pick of the games consist of the children's genre and a Mario Party knockoff.
Also, it required a whopping 6 FEET of OPEN floor space to play it. I'm sure the kids of rich people (or the rich people themselves) might enjoy the novelty of it, and have enough space to use it. Me? A 1-bedroom apartment hardly has 6 feet of space in its whole living room.
People say that the Playstation copied the Wii. Well, ever heard of the EyeToy? It was for playstation 2. And GASP....it did exactly what the Kinect does. You play games with your body, no controller involved. XBOX COPIED THE PLAYSTATION!
Did Playstation copy the Wii? No..... the Wii uses motion controlled by WIRELESS. Playstation is all bluetooth, and uses colored lights, a magnetometer, accelerometer, and incredibly well-defined movement sensors to track motion. In fact, it's the only system that allows CORDLESS MOTION USED FOR SHOOTERS AND RPGs! For all you 360 fanboys dead-set on playing Halo and CoD with this thing, IT WON'T HAPPEN. It's impossible, considering that you CAN'T MOVE.
Does Kinect work? Yeah, it works. It's okay, it's new, it's shiny, it's a giant paperweight with motion sensors.
Will it work in 2 years, when the shelf life for the current gen of systems is over, and micro$oft rolls out a new shiny piece of junk for you to waste money on? No.
At least with the Wii, I had enjoyable sports and party games. At least with the Playstation, I have my motion control AND my shooters and RPGs. With the 360, and it's Kinect, I have nothing but lost floor space and a big headache.
Why the Kinect needs a ton of open space...skip through the first minute.

Then return it!

I just wanted to say if you are so unhappy with Kinect, just return it. If it's not too late.
Secondly, MS never advertised that Kinect would work with current gen games not designed for it.....such as Halo, COD, etc...so no need to knock it for that.

O.K. System & Kinect is GREAT!!!
PostedJanuary 1, 2011
First of all the new slim xbox works fine for me and i would say its faster than the elite in my opinion! The problem is, is that in the commercial it said "whisper quiet" but some of the games you play on it make the xbox VERY LOUD, but most of the newer games play very quiet so thats really the only thing i found that was weird and kind of stupid about the product because if you play an older game it isn't whisper quiet at all! Even with SOME of the new games it still isn't as quiet as the elite but still it can be a very quiet system on some games. Now, the kinect is great. It picks up your movement pretty good except sometimes it gets a little issues such as a laggy type reaction but its still outstanding! i would recommend the kinect more than the new xbox slim.
