This game is perfect for: casual gamers
Ive been a long time fan of the Driver series ever since the PS1 days. Im glad they made a new one for 2011.
THIS IS NOT A GRAND THEFT AUTO COMPETITION
The actual game play is very far from gta in fact. It is a different game in its entirely. So if you think this is supposed to be its competition, you are very wrong.
This would be like comparing WoW to Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2.
Its a different type of driving game.
For instance,
You cannot get out of the vehicle like how you do on GTA.
You can actually jump (shift) into other cars and control them.
You cannot hit people.
You do not carry weapons.
They have real cars in this game.
They have garages where you can modify cars unlike GTA.
( I wont ruin it for you by telling you storyline aspects. )
But the storyline is great! I havnt tried multiplayer yet, but im sure its amazing.
Go spend the $50. Worth it.

Review 4 for Driver: San Francisco
Hopefully Better than the Last Drivers

That's really all I can say. I played the first on the Playstation, and I loved it. Played the second, was okay. Third made me mad- felt like a Grand Theft Auto copy without all the interactivity. Great idea, but poorly executed so I didn't even bother finishing the game at all.
This one, hopefully, will introduce something new to driving games.
But then again, eventually most FPS/Driving/RPG/etc games will all just end up being the same so there would be very little improvement or new elements to introduce.

Which Driver was it?
Posted 5/4/14
There have been several incarnations of Driver, and I've played all of them on the PC (to each his own. I've always hated console games, and you probably aren't a fan of computer games). The first one was wonderful, but lacked any real story, let alone the ability to tweak your cars, or race them on tracks. The second one was, IMO, way too difficult, really to the point of being ridiculous. The 3rd, which is the one I THINK you're complaining about, was by far and away my favorite. Are we talking the same game where you could buy new parts to tune up your car? Where you could tweak the shocks and springs and what not? Win money at the races? Win CARS at the races? Then advance the story line when you wanted to, with the story line being you were an up and coming wheel man in the 70/80s, but then set up to take the fall, so arrive back in the 21st century to take revenge on the guys who set you up the first time? I'm not saying you have to like the game as much as I did, but I want to make certain we're talking about the same game. Is the game I just described the game of Driver you didn't like?
