Okey for starters this is the best headset i have own aside from Astros. True 5.1 Digital Dolby. I play 1st person shoots so i hear everything from footsteps to dripping water. Directional sound is accurate. With this headset if i were playing i get less them 6 deaths, not saying youll be god with this headset, but it helps you alot and helps if your a good player. Wired will alway be Digital, Wireless is not Digital so sound quality is different. Wireless is nice but for sound quality get wired. Hope this helps. Here is my COD settings
Front - Highest Setting on Light Blue Setting (Light Blue color after Green) Rear - Middle Setting on White (From Highest Setting on Light Blue hit up 4 times) Center - Highest Setting on Light Blue Setting (Light Blue color after Green) Sub - Highest Setting on Green
So this will make your rear volume high so you can hear behind you easily. So Front and Center should be on highest setting on Light Blue meaning if you hit up 1 hit you get white. Same for Sub hit 1 up you get Light Blue. Make sure you have your PS3 or Xbox on optical on 5.1 Dolby and in your game make sure its on Headphone setting not TV or you wont get the full effect.

I am thoroughly impressed with this particular headset. Outperforms any other brand out there. The sound quality was my biggest concern to look into because I planned to use them at night and not wake people up. At the same time I wanted the best quality audio for a reasonable price. In all honesty, out of the box they have a great look to them but I took a closer look and thought " some of the material quality was lacking in certain areas." But after the surprisingly simple set up, I started blasting away with guns in different games and getting into the atmosphere of fallout 3, they absolutely blew me away. The separate volume levels for the front, back, center, and subwoofer (bass) is also and amazing addition. I take very good care of all my expensive electronic products so people that complain about the sturdiness and quality headset are most likely mistreating it in someway. My first and current pair have lasted me well over 6 months. I encourage anyone looking for a real gaming experience to buy these ASAP. There a great lineup of games coming out this season and no other gaming headset will give you the outstanding quality and ultimate gaming experience this product provides.

These things sound really nice, the surround sound works well, but the mic doesnt work . I'm not stupid, I know how to properly connect it, but it still only lights up next to my name when I tap it or scream with it almost in my mouth. I tried every sequence of reconnection I could think of, even exchanged it for another one, but they still don't work properly. The surround sound is neat, but if I'm gonna pay this much for something, it better do freaking everything the box says it will do.

if you go to tritton's website buy a mic off there this happened to my AX720's and it worked

Great sound, Disappointing life-span

bought in April of 2010, by December 2010 the left cup was becoming disjointed. The outer, silver plastic layer had come partly apart from the rest of the cup making the ear wiggly. As time went the mic twist-in broke, this is after I had the mic removed for about 3 months. Finally around middle of June the right ear went whisper quiet, this is with the sound up as loud as possible. The sound, even after the left cup had gone loose, is amazing! Heard all sort of things I couldn't before. Didn't matter if it was in movies or games, amazing sound. The mic picked up my voice better than any before and the mic reverb to make sure you're not yelling is a great feature, didn't intefere with others talking or game sound. Vent wich always seemed to have an issue projecting my voice to others, even when I was amped the loudest. The cables are fairly long and sturdy (not dog eatting sturdy but I've gotten them tangled and caught and tripped a few times and still perfect). Swapping from system to system to PC can be a bit tiresome. It's easily shortened if you leave some of the constant connectors and inputs linked. Overall: great sound just the longivity of it is way to short for the priceing. Currently looking for replacements.
