A must-have for PSP owners
Location: Asheville, NC
Blazing Souls: Accelate is, first and foremost, a Strategy RPG for the PSP handheld system. It is the sequel to the 2006 PSP title "Spectral Souls: Resurrection of the Ethereal Empires." Its predecessor was a great game that suffered from hardware issues. Thankfully, Blazing Souls: Accelate runs completely smooth. There are virtually no load times.
The game play of Blazing Souls is deep and engrossing. Characters gain points which can be used to upgrade stats any way the player sees fit, though it is best to raise character stats to fit their weapon type. For instance, a Scythe user would need high strength (STR in-game), and a Staff user would need high magic (MGC in game) to be able to inflict enough damage on enemies to be useful to the party.
The game play isn't the only pro of Blazing Souls: Accelate, however. The story of this game is enthralling. From the initial mysteries set forth surrounding the main character and a mysterious girl found in a ruin early on in the game, Blazing Souls manages to keep the plot interesting throughout.
If looking for a game to get lost in for a time, definitely pick up Blazing Souls: Accelate, you won't regret it.
