The Xbox 360 4GB system was a good buy from my local Gamestop for $199.99 brand new plus $20 tax over a year ago when I bought it.
I had no problems setting it up; it was pretty easy to do and the software that comes with it or operating system is easy to use as well.
With a 4GB hard drive built in it you'll have plenty of room for saving games; 1 game save takes up anywhere from 4MB of ram to 16MB of ram.
The graphics are excellent and on par with the fastest gaming PC's running ATI and Geoforce graphics cards; I think Microsoft may have included one in this system and other Xbox 360's as well
The sound is great though both the graphics and sound are better running on a flat screen TV. I have a 13' TV at the moment that has AI input and RFU input and I had to buy a RFU adapter for the Xbox 360 as the AVI input does not work on it. The Xbox 360 still looks fine and sounds ok running on an older TV set from the 90's and an RFU adapter. The system can hook up to S-video and composite ports and AV ports I think as well as HDMI ones as well. You'll have to buy an RFU adapter separately which I found on Amazon for the Xbox 360.
The Xbox 360 can play DVD's and music CD's like the original Xbox can and does a good job of it though sometimes certain DVD's cannot be played or have trouble running or with the picture or sounds sometimes both at the same time.
The wireless Xbox 360 controller is nice and hassle free when it comes to not worrying about a cord to trip over or getting twisted and tangled up However you may want to invest in a controller with a wire in it as two AA batteries only last about 28-30 hours at most though some may last longer. The controller is heavy and big and takes getting used to as well.
The system is quiet and not loud. It is capable of connecting to the internet for DLC downloads, multiplayer and other stuff but not internet browsing like on the Playstation 3 or Nintendo Wii which really sucks. It is Wi-Fi enabled and comes with an Ethernet adapter as well.
Be careful if not standing the system up to not spill anything on top of the system as this is where the fan is and it can ruin it. I prefer to keep my system laying down and not standing up anyway.
The only drawback to this system is that you cannot play original Xbox games on it straight out of the box and have to invest more money to buy a Xbox 360 hard drive to play original Xbox games on it which is lousy of Microsoft to make people spend more money. For $50 more plus tax a 250GB system can run games straight out of the box I am pretty sure. And again no internet browsing. The Instruction manual is good and easy to read.
All in all this is a solid system that is built well and has a ton of great games on it such as Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, GTA IV, and much more.
I give it an 8 out of a 10 for being a good video game system though not a great one from Microsoft.

The 360 is a near perfect console, and a very good needed upgrade to the 360 elite. A wide selection of games for every type of gamer, highly recommend it.

I bought a ps3 and signed up for the ps network, but within a month I was hacked. I strongly recomend Xbox live because they take care of thier customers. I have had Xbox live for over a year and no problems. all you pro ps3 people need to realize you get what you pay for and sony dosnt care. Xbox live is the best value for your money. I would recomend an Xbox 360 to anyone. Sure Xbox live costs a little bit, but like I said you get what you pay for. That money goes to keeping you safe online. it is definately worth it.
