Excellent , tops turtle beach

I previously owned a pair of X1 turtle beaches and they were pretty nice, Got the job done at a fairly inexpensive price, But the structure of them was always inexpensive, The left adjuster cracked just after a several months, So good old duct tape help it together not perfectly but good enough to deal with, Until, finally the duct tape was getting flimsy and i was getting irritated, so i went and picked up a pair of these bad boys and let me tell you what, They are 100x better in my opinion and fit around my head and ears in perfect, sound quality is excellent and not to mention they are a thick well built headset, Durable, I dont see these cracking anytime soon unless i step on them. They are not cheaply made like the turtle beaches. More expensive then my X1's but well worth it.

the cost is alot for 90% of people. But i have very exspensive headphones already for music editing. So understanding the value vs cost of good headphones is important when going into a purchase like this. When i seen the tritton ax pro headphones i was very interested. than the Black Ops edition came out and I was sold, i had to try them. The sound is great with and extreme surround sound feeling. Also has settings depending on the type of sound your looking for. The first explosion i heard acually made me jump a little. i LOVE the braided cables and the blacked out look, complements my office/gaming room very well. The headphones cover my ears comfortably and can game for hours with them on. even if you dont like black ops, its still a better buy than your standard ax pros because the look and extra effort in the cables. go nuts, buy them.

Tritton AX 720 Black Ops Special Edition Headset
PostedNovember 17, 2010
So having tried a pair of the Tritton AX Pro's and not being fully satisfied with them, I did a ton of research online to see what headsets out there could compete with the Pro's and do a better job. The reason I didn't care for them was because of the actual sound quality. They do give good sound dispersement, but the clarity is lacking. Excellent bass, but scratchy treble. Very annoying. So I returned them and read about the Tritton AX 720's. That's when I saw a new pair of headsets (designed with Black Ops graphics etc) just came out and I was like, "Ok, I am getting these!" Based on reviews, people raved about the 720's over the Pro's and even talked about them beating out highend Turtle Beach headsets. I'm not familiar with TB, so I can't give an educated opinion. Anyway, I went to gamestop and picked up a pair of the Black Ops Edition headsets and all I can say is WOW. Soon as I got home and opened these (packaging alone is well worth the price increase over the regular 720's) I was impressed. The headphones feel SO much better than the Pro's and the sound blows them out the water. You'd think going from 4 speakers in each earcup to just one, that I'd notice a degrade in sound going to the lower model, but it's the opposite. Believe what you read, these headphones are better. Bass is accurate and treble is dead on. You get what the game sound engineers intended for you to hear. Sound can be heard from all positions which was a major concern so that was the deal sealer. If you're questioning whether or not to get these based on the price, it's FAR worth it. That's coming from someone who always thought it was a waste of money to get a "special edition" anything. You'll enjoy them...A LOT!

comparing the COD-headset & AXpro from gamestop
onFebruary 3, 2011
I did some research and find out that the call of duty headset from gamestop is not the AX-Pro but the AX720. In tritton site the COD duty headset from tritton is suppose to be AX-Pro for 209.99. Well My point is... why by the COD headset from gamestop when you can get the AXPRO for the same price the only diffrent is gold plat and some COD image on the headset
