I have a original 60 gb fat PS3 and always wanted the slim to have the same memory card slots and usb plugs. 2 usb plugs are not enough so heres the solution. First off read the directions. You put the right side with the hook in the vent FIRST. Then slide the bar LEFT till the usb plug lines up with the second usb on the system. Then plug the usb in the usb on the system. It DOES lock tight on the system.
I plugged 4 usb devices in 2 controllers, eye, and headset and all 3 memory card types at the same time. ALL ports and plugs worked PERFECTLY. Not one problem from this item and i gave it a serious workout for 6 hours straight just today. I now can transfer all my media and backup games to memory to take on the road with me to friends without bringing my whole system along.
My only complaint is that when on it sticks slightly out from the edge of the system on the top side. Not totally flush as they say. But, no big deal this item does it's job 100%. It adds media options and 2 extra usb ports for a total of 4 usb plugs and 3 memory card slots. If you could use them, buy this item IF you can find one. Game On.

I haven't had one problem with it. i bought it snapped it into my ps3 connected my turtle beach headset in the first usb plug and 3 controllers in the others and havent had any problems with it shutting off or messing up my game play and i play call of duty black ops about 4hrs a night and watch netflix during the day.

Dont believe the other reviews that gave this product a bad rating. I have used all 4 usb ports at the same time and my ps3 has never shut off. It also clips on in 3 different spots so it is very sturdy. If you read the directions it shows you how to put it on. You cant just plug it in to the usb and expect it to stay on tight. It works perfectly and it makes the ps3 slim look a little cooler. If you need more usb ports and card reader slots, then definitely buy this item.

i bought this with a skeptical mindset from reading the review of the other guy who said his ps3 kept shutting off. i didnt have this issue of console turning off or anything. it actually got the job done. but my issue was a bit different. yea the product worked, but either im a tard, or the product is little fragile because as u can see, there is 1 usb from the media bar connecting to the ps3, which makes this long media bar kind of wobbly. i cant seem to fit it to where it just stays onto the ps3 firmly. so i returned it back to gamestop. but like many others, i also need more usb ports for my ps3. so i am going to try out nyko's ps3 media hub slim. this nyko product actually have 2 usb ports that sticks into the ps3 from what i can see which will ensure that the product stays firmly in place onto the ps3.

yea but if you use the 2 usb went you conect a usb mic will make noise you have to conec on the first usb
