It is...Dare I say? Epic!

Get this game. What...? That's not enough? Fine! This game combines classic Disney characters and locations along with fun, entertaining gameplay. You will have much more fun reaching the tops of buildings, and figuring out puzzles, than you will fighting enemies. The games will allow you to chose good options, or bad options. Being good or bad will change the way NPCs think of Micky throughout the game. It will also change the ending of the game, and what items you can reach/can't reach. The graphics are excellent. The gameplay graphics are very colorful and vibrant. The cutscene graphics are even more amazing. They look like they came start out of a Disney book. The sound is very good, as well. The lack of voice acting makes the sound category lose a little points, but the grunts and squeaks will keep you laughing! And as for the length of the game...? A 15 hour adventure with more than one ending. Plus, if you love collecting items, you will come back quite a few more times. As for the collectors edition items. The Micky figure is actually much larger than I expected. (No, I didn't see where it read "Figure is 5 inches tall"...) You can move it's arms, feet and head, and put the paintbrush in and out of his hand. (Keep paintbrush away from small children) The figure is made out of that hard rubber material, instead of cheap plastic. The skins, well...The console skins are a little bit small, but the art work is great on them. The bonus disk is great if you love seeing how things are made, or if you like Disney stuff. (It as an animation short movie) Bottom line: If you have a Wii, even if you don't care much for Disney things, get this game. If you like collecting things, mostly if you like Disney things, get the collectors edition.

No Better Game Out There
onDecember 30, 2010
There's so much more to this game than some people see. Yes, the graphics are great for what the Nintendo Wii can offer and the music is always perfect. But look at this.
Disney has had Oswald back since February of 2006, and the only places I've seen him was the 2007 Easter Parade in Disneyland, Tokyo and in Epic Mickey. I'm sorry but I cannot accept this. Epic Mickey is almost demanding Disney to put Oswald EVERYWHERE. With all of the new fans emerging and old fans crying out for Oswald, it's an unavoidable thing. And it'll no doubt occur with the rest of the characters too. I've seen Horace and Clarabelle in House of Mouse, a long time ago, but it's just not the same as the original ones. Epic Mickey did a great job of reuniting Mickey Mouse with his old friends in a way that draws emotion from fans. Bravo, Junction Point, Bravo.
On other news, I know that Warren S. interviewed MANY composers, and the music you hear in Epic Mickey is what he considered perfect. It's meant (and definitely does) to sound like the Disney music you hear in all the movies (I mean the ones like Aladdin Pinocchio or even Steamboat Willie) but with a spooky and eerie twist. With no doubt it was pulled off, and with the music changing to alert you of enemies who have noticed you, it surely was helpful.
I would recommend this game to ANYONE, but even more importantly Disney fans. The game was simply fantastic. Extravagant. EPIC.

This game just has one word: epic
PostedDecember 6, 2010
This game is designed for any generation who has grown up with Mickey is able to connect to this game in some way. The cartoons of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, seeing characters from the cartoons of Mickey in black and white, Peter Pan, any character who is in the Wasteland was seen in Disney. The wasteland is suppose to represent a world without Mickey and Oswald succeeding in an opposite universe, in Mean Street, seeing Oswald holding Walt Disney's hand marks the change of Mickey to Oswald. THis game is suppose to represent the word of Oswald instead of Mickey. It is scary to see what one copyright change has been caused to what Disney is and what it could have been. This game is for everyone of all ages, it's really hard to beat even if one is 16 and it is considered as a childs game.

Fantastic Game, but needs more salt

As I stepped into Mickey's yellow shoes, getting sucked into the world of wasteland, I was immediately at the mercy of a faulty camera angle. You have to constantly hit the c button on the nunchuck to see whats in front of you most of the time.
The other problem with the game I had was the level if difficulty. So far I have played about seven hours of the game I am more than half way through it. Maybe I was just expecting a little more of a challenge, but then again this is a Mickey game so you have to keep younger gamers in mind.
For what the Wii has to offer, the developer does do a great job on the visuals. Cut scenes are rendered in 2d and the characters talk in a lego style dialogue, while you are forced to read subtitles. I personally hate that because it takes away from the game while you are trying to read. Worlds are connected through portal style projector screens of Mickey and Oswald cartoons that serve little purpose but to collect a small amount of e-tickets and extra features. The portals do serve however as a wonderful homage to the classic cartoons.
The good mickey, bad mickey is what really makes this game shine. Almost everything including bosses have different strategies you can use and can effect the outcome of the game, as well as the look of Mickey. The huge portion of the gameplay is spent searching for all the items that are hidden. Tons of quests and subquests to do while you progress through the game. As I stated before im only about half way, but so far I am not able to revisit key levels to try to find what I miss, I truly hopes that changes.
I thank everyone for sticking with this review of what I have done so far. Overall, minus the few problems with camera angle it really is a blast erasing and drawing, befriending or destroying and I will play again to try to collect all there is to get as well as seeing what would of happened if I made a different choice. Definitely one of the better Mickey games out there and a stable for the Wii, but I wish there would of been a little more of a challenge in the levels themselves.

Epic? Yes.

Very, oh dare I say it? Epic game. It has good gameplay and a very lovely story. It's a great game to play and gives you a lot of different ways to go about doing things. Now the only thing bad that I will say about it the camera. Sometimes the camera is not you're best friend and can be the downfall when you're jumping or trying to have a look around, but if you can get past that the game is, epic. Lol.
