Looks cool, feels like garbage
PostedDecember 23, 2010
Pros
-looks cool, I like the lighting effects
-I like the placement 5 buttons on the left side of the mouse (pretty much why I impulse-bought it, been looking for a mouse with that style layout.)
Cons
-one of the buttons didn't work
-it feels cheap (I've heard the mouse's paint actually wears away after a few months. I've only had it for a day so I haven't witnessed this but I would keep that in mind.)
-though the mouse is huge my hand way overshoots the button on the right hand side of the mouse
-virtually impossible to hit the button to the left of the left main button without holding the mouse in some very awkward position
-it somehow managed to freeze my computer 3 times upon plugging it in, forcing me to hard reboot it. Plugged in my old mouse and it worked fine...
-impossible to hold this mouse claw-style, you HAVE to palm it, or else even more of the buttons are unreachable
Perhaps I'm just unlucky and got a crapped out mouse, and maybe my hands are too big? My hands are pretty large but the mouse is enormous, I thought it would be a perfect fit. But even if my hands were small enough to hit the button on the side, I still feel as though some of the other buttons would be uncomfortable to use. If you get this mouse and it isn't defective, you can manage to hit all the buttons comfortably and don't mind the cheap light weight to it, this may be the mouse for you. For me the mouse is completely impractical; I'll be returning it this evening. I've heard the Razer Naga mice are pretty nice, I'll see if I can try out one of them.

Exactly what you wanted from the original
PostedDecember 15, 2010
Highly improved over the original design the all new Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse is a marvel of Steelseries technology. Whether you're a hardcore WoW player, or a casual pc gamer with expensive tastes, this mouse sates the thirst that the first WoW mouse just couldn't quench. Improved ergonomic design make this behemoth much more comfortable and less clunky than it's predecessor. With a CPI setting capable of up to 5000, 10 customizable profiles with on-board memory and 14 programmable buttons either in our outside the game make this mouse the best purchase I could have made outside of a brand new computer.I would recommend this to anyone who loves to get what they pay for. However it's not all good news, I have 2 qualms with this mouse as is. Problem #1: Some of the illumination colors are inaccurate, you choose red and it's pink you choose pink and it's purple, most of the other major colors are fine though, blue is blue green is green etc. Problem #2: Because of the new WoW community site and them integrating armory into it the profiles being linked to your character through armory feature is unavailable. The official site states they are working on fixing this but my question is why was this not thought of beforehand if they were working so closely with Blizzard. Also just like with it's predecessor you must be careful how you use custom macro's. Other than that this is a great mouse and i'm glad to have spent money on this fine product. 9/10

Best gaming mouse I've ever used
PostedDecember 13, 2010
Though I've never used or purchased the original mouse like this, I've heard a lot of not necessarily bad things, but not a lot of good ones either about it. I read more into this mouse, and I liked the fact that you could customize it pretty much to your playing standards. I've never actually used a mouse that you could do that with. The location of the buttons on this mouse are also ideal as you don't have to strain with your hand to reach them. Another thing I liked about how this mouse operates is that you can customize it from the World of Warcraft interface.
All of these things led me to make my purchase of this wonderful gaming mouse. Get yours today!
