Gameplay wise this game is top notch, there's not many close or better. It's colorful, the area's are vast, customizing your character is a lot of fun, their's a lot of different enemies to encounter, and a lot of unique weapons to acquire. Playing the game through more than once is just as fun with the different character classes. ENJOY

game is a mix of a couple of the great games that are out there. Mix God of War / World of Warcraft / and Elder Scrolls and you get Kingdoms of amalur. The game plays extremely well controls are easy to pick up for the most part. The story line and side quest will keep you busy for at least 100 hours and the crafting system is simple yet when used correctly can weild some sick gear. Def worth picking up for 40 bucks!!

This game is an awesome RPG! The gameplay and graphics are stunning. The pros of this game is you can play over 50+ on just one playthrough because after the first one you will want to play again. Also the combat system is pretty good which adds the the greatness of this game. I also like the storyline of this game as well as the quests you can do in this game. This game was meant to be am MMO but they changed it I like the style of it because I used to play WoW and those types but for others i might be different. Now for the cons, first of all EA are abusing the online codes pass stuff *** because they have it for a single player game and they said it adds to the game but still for the used game players it add 10 bucks and they might as well just get the new version...luckily for me the owner of this game when i bought it had 2 passes in it one for mass effect 3 and one for this game.

So I wanted to buy this game and have nothing but great things about it. Watched a few IGN reviews, and saw the graphics were kind of World Of Warcraft like. So I decided 40$ Is really nothing to spend on a game! After at minimum of 20 minutes I was hooked! What seemed like 5 minutes was 3 hours! Great Graphics, and I love the Fae Blades! Im a rogue with fae blades and magic! Great Game!!!

I thought this game was great from the graphics to the story. Definetly worth it!! No issues like glitches or freezes and that scores BIG in my book. Dont get me wrong there was a hiccup or two but nothing like Skyrim or Fallout New Vegas. I will reccommend this to friends.

i like the characters!! its great you pick what race yr character is and what gods you worship. i picked no gods to worship. the controls are smooth. there is no jumping but you can roll to and fro. there and two weapon slots and a shield. your character has magic powers too depending on what race you pick. my guy is persuasive, passive, and stealthy. ive only just begun the game for a few hours but i was hooked after about 15 minutes! im no hardcore rpg gamer. i like fallout 3 but thats about it. i dont like elder scrolls or mass effect but i like this amalur reckoning!!im renting now but i may end up buying it cuz the map looks pretty big. i recommend to any casual gamer who is looking for something different from shooters and god of war type slashers/platformers.

Kingdom of Amalur Reckoning is a game that should be in any hardcore gamers collection, it offers alot for me when i first got this game i had no idea what it was about i looked up on it and found a pros and cons list of it and in all fairness Amalur is a generic RPG but what do you expect comepared to other RPGs that have been released this one blows them out of the water, this game is like masseffect dragonage and fable if they had a child of pure awsomeness then this would be it, now like i said it is generic but anything bad that is to be said about this game would be nitpicking and thats just a pointless rant so for this game i give a 9.5 out of 10 a game thats this good for a generic RPG it should be in your collection.

Kingdoms of Amalur was a twist of rpgs that i've played before, a twist of world of warcraft, pinch of god of war, and a small amount of fable in the mix. The only problems that I have dealt with the game is a lagging issue that only last for about 1 to .5 seconds but not long. The game brings definite challenges to all who enjoy a great rpg, and also brings the decision making of a open world fable like game. I would recommend this game to people who enjoy god of war and also those who enjoy the game fable.

I was very skeptical when I was considering buying this game. The only experience I had with the game before-hand was playing the demo offered through PSN, and it was a little lack-luster. But after seeing mixed reviews of others, I decided to give it a shot. If you can make you're way through the opening sequence of the game, you'll discover something quite magical. The in-game world is vast and beautifully designed, and there is never a moment when you have nothing to do. The rpg elements are expansive, and having the choice to wipe your character and start over in a new direction while in-game is a great addition. I do have a few gripes concerning the game though, mainly the "open world" aspect. While the world is expansive, it's not necessarily "free roaming" as I had hoped. Guess I got spoiled on Skyrim for that. Also I didn't care for the combat system, which mainly consisted of button combos and such. I'm not saying it's bad, it's actually executed very well. It's just not my preference. Overall, this is a beautiful and very engrossing game with a very very high replay value, assuming you manage to play it all the way through. For those who are fans of the RPG genre, this is definitely one to add to your collection.

I picked this up used and I was actually excited. My overall thoughts though Pros: -Great, refreshing combat I havnt experienced in awhile, A nice revisited toony yet gorgouse visuals though the NPCs did seem a little half done, A good main story quest, a variety of enemies and weapons, Seemingly no problems rendering most of the time despite the hugee open fantasy world. Cons: -The side quests feel quite repetitive: Find NPC, beat dungeon, fight boss; Find NPC, beat dungeon, fight boss, There really are no memorable NPCs or epic, cinematic boss fights that make you think "Wow, I want to play this game again just for that part", Reckoning mode is broken which makes a boss fight a sinch, enemies seem poorly placed; its like you find the good stuff with weak enemies and the commen meh stuff with powerful enemies which made this game an easy job to overpower enemies easily. Overall: I wanted to rate this higher but the cons turned me off from doing so. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the main quest which was a good 25-30 hours but the game doesnt have that flow that most other RPGs have that make you want to play over and over or remember. Does this mean you shouldn't get it? NO, if you are looking for some refreshing combat with/or a toon yet good visual with a good story line, this game is definitly a must have for you...or if you just like any RPG in general that works to.

It could be the greatest game in the world but you get stuck without being able to go back or forward its just a waste of time. 50 hrs of play time I was defeated because I walked between a bookcase and a pile of books and couldnt get back out....had to go back to a save from 2-3 hrs previous. I thought that was annoying till I started running into "invisible" walls preventing me from continuing forward. Attack an NPC and I would run through it!?! Makes no sense. 2 minutes more of game play, another invisible wall, and I can't go forward and I can't go back. Now forced to only start the game up to see if there are new patches to download to see if that fixes the problem...Save your money, wait a year, maybe they'll have debugged this game to a playable degree by then.

Before I start this review let me tell you a couple things first. No I don't have Skyrim. No I've never played Skryim. And lastly no I will NOT be comparing Amalur to Skyrim. Now with that out of the way, let's review the game shall we? I got introduced to Amalur when I downloaded the demo for PS3 on 3/2/12. I was pretty amazed with what I got. But now that I've played the full version of Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning, I'll safely say that it blew my fragile mind away. (SPOILER BEYOND THIS POINT) The game starts out with....you dead. 2 gnomes (not garden gnomes) tested an expirement on your dead body by throwing you into the Well of Sould, which is SUPPOSED to bring the dead back to life with the terrible afftereffect of amnesia. But it didn't work out with out with the OTHER people and the gnomes think you're "just another failure" and they drop you down the gutter. But then you awake and make your journey from there. Also, your character has the ability to bend and twist other people's fate. You'll see what I mean when you play the game. The combat system is great. Mixing combat you'd see in a Zelda game with Ninja Gaiden like match the button gameplay. The game rieminds me of World of Warcraft with its fantasy open world enviorment. All of this makes me love this game.

I recently pre-ordered Kingdoms of Amular: Reckoning and picked up the game on February 7th. I must say this game is awesome and is one of the best I have played in a long while. Reckoning has really good graphics and sound, better than most RPG's out there. In fact, I would call this art style "whimsical". Next, the story is interesting and it talks about genocide, people coming back from the dead in the "Well of Souls" and racism which makes it more of a mature story than most games out there. Reckoning is a really good game with more qualities than I can list and I think the show X-Play was wrong to give this game a mere 2.5 out of 5 when it should have been 4 or 4.5 out of 5. I think it's good and I hope people agree with me.

Ok, so I'm not what you call a true gamer - I'll check games out that my fiance has here or there and lose intrest with in 5 hours of game play. So, I decided by his pushing that I try this game and I was impressed. Not playing games like this before it's amazing how much I got into the game - here I am 24hours in and already have 23 quests completed (none of which are the main storyline). My only complaint is the sound tends to disappear at times and I have to turn the volume up a bit to hear the rest. That's the only down fall of the game. I think this is a great game for someone wanting to try an RPG, it's pretty simple though some quests have you wondering where the heck you're going - over all for a casual gamer like me this is a perfect game! I can't wait to start getting DLC for the game!

Ok, here is the deal, you don't need to customize your character all the way. Especially in a solo game. I don't know why people get so worked up about that and see passed an obviously good game. Sure the sound is not the best, believe me, i have to turn up my tv to hear the sound.
Yet, the production companies for the game are loud and clear.
But i'm not gonna let poor sound ruin an otherwise good game.
Nor poor customization. In my opinion, the customization is good enough. I don't know how changing the color of my characters armor is gonna change what happens in the objective.
Now I like these type of games (rpgs) if you will. So i'm a little biased with my review, again who isn't. I haven't even beat the game, which by the way, if you didn't notice is the whole point, exploration. That is why i'm 35 hours into it, and barely finished with the main quest.
To be honest. I did customize my character a bit, but only for ambiance. I wouldn't care if they didn't have customization but since it's there. The graphics are colorful yes,but that's what sets it apart from other games like this. Do you want another Skyrim clone copy to the exact point?Ask yourselves that. Overall the game is good, if you like that sort of thing. Hopefully whenever i'm finished with it, they'll have a sequel in the works, if i finish it by then ;) .
