This game may take a lot from WoW, which will turn a lot of players away. The sad outcome with this is that they will then overlook the grander details of this game, which is the incredible environments and vast history spread throughout SWTOR.
There's an in-depth story with every class that so far has been keeping me intrigued non-stop (level 28 now) and the quests don't feel like boring repetitive endeavors as most quests do in other MMOs. Typically i'm forced to grind up to max level in a zombiefied state lacking any real motive other than catching up to my friends. Such has not been the case at all with SWTOR.
I've stopped to listen to all the dialogue, which has been included with EVERY quest-giver, letting myself get engrossed into this rich story. There's a lot going on here and you're just a little piece of the puzzle. On top of that, the voice acting is top notch, and really gives you a sense of achievement with each decision.
Bioware has held true to it's tradition of giving choices over every situation. This only further lets you develop your character and the story involved. Within hours I got quite attached to character and I feel he is genuinely created from me.
The combat is very similar to WoW but I can't say that's so terrible. You can't fix what ain't broke, though I would have preferred just a bit more distinction with this combat and WoW's combat. The biggest difference they have in that regard is having a cover system based on your class. More ideas like this may have made it stand out more. There's plenty of other qualities that make up for this though.
You get your own ship and your crew fills it up. There's some nice distractions with doing missions on your ship, and you get to upgrade it to do tougher missions. It's completely different from anything else in the game and reminds me of Starfox. It's fun, but seems like an added tick to the game just cause it's cool to have your own ship.
All I can say is, it's a very well crafted game. I can't say that I feel short changed at all, and I've already put 3-months pay into it. I hope max level does not get repetitive as most MMOs do, but we'll see. Until then, i'm just going to enjoy the ride.

Great MMO

Excellent MMO I am really impressed and shocked. I bought star trek when it first came out so I thought this would be the same. How wrong I was. This MMO just sucks you in and you want to keep playing. So if you are tired of playing WoW and outdated graphics then try this one out. As for the computer ill literate out there. If your computer is crashing and acting up it isnt the software its hardware whice means get a better computer.

so many possibilties, up to forty characters, it almost can't get any better. had to turn off shadows grass and trees to prevent lag, but now it works great!

everything's great about this game except the payment system is a little off but otherwise great oh and some bugs here and there but its one of my favorite games in these past years so go buy it!!!
